Dallas Trahern to the DL

I'm not sure why you guys are being sarcastic about it.

I'd rather see Trahern than John Koronka, Tuesday.

I'm not being sarcastic, it sucks but I'm not gonna slam my head into the wall over a spot starter.

I'm slamming my head b/c it seems as though a lot of our young pitchers keep going on the DL.

Anibal

Miller

Tucker

Vanden Hurk

Trahern

And, off topic, but I picked Jose Ceda as my Adopt a Marlin. Anyone heard anything about him?

Good news so far. The doctor who read the MRI said it isnt as bad as they thought. No Tommy John surgery. Marlins team doctors havent looked at it as of yet but initial prognosis is he wont be out too long.

Young starters tend to do that. I was criticized a lot during the offseason for saying that we lacked SP depth but its really showing now. We went into the year with only five true major league starters- and that's counting Miller who hasn't yet gotten it at the major league level. Its been plainly obvious to me that one thing you absolutely have to have to be competetive is SP depth. We have absolutely no chance of making the playoffs this year because we don't have the starters to take us there. We're not gonna get there trotting out guys like John Koronka and Graham Taylor- at least not with out abundant offensive weaknesses.

By who? Basically the entire forum complained about our lack of SP depth this offseason.

More for pointing out that our SP depth was gonna result in a 70 win season. Most thought I was pessimistic. At any rate there were a lot of people who were FO apologists all through the offseason, until the straight up release of Joe Nelson finally brought everyone around.

Talked to Dallas yesterday and he will be seeing Dr. Andrews for a 2nd opinion on his situation.

Never good.

Speaking of Joe Nelson, he remembered why he's a minor league journeyman.

Good news...well kind of... a 2nd MRI done today confirmed it is just a torn flexor tendon in Dallas elbow. Dallas will be out another 4-6 weeks before he can even start throwing. But at least it's not Tommy John.
