June 10, 200917 yr I think a 1-10 scale would be better. I think he's below average but I don't think he's bad. 1-10 with 10=excellent, 7=good, 5=average, 3=bad, 1=horrible, I'd say he's 4. So far this year though he's been terrible.

June 10, 200917 yr Also depends on position. Right Field, he's bad. Left Field, average. Hermida is -1 +/- at LF and RF this year. Ranking 24th in LF and 26 in RF. He's below average at both.

June 10, 200917 yr Well....I wouldn't rate him horrible, but I think that he's clearly bad...and dumb. And clumsy. Lost In Space. I'd have to rate him bad-minus or horrible-plus, if you want to put a positive spin on it.
June 10, 200917 yr I've always hated Hermida defense. I don't like lazy players, and for years that is what I have seen hermida as. He has very good arm strength, but he never uses he. He doesn't hustle after balls, he takes bad routes to the ball almost every time, he's not horrible, but he's damn close.
June 11, 200917 yr When he was drafted he was projected as a Paul O'neill type, which I thought would translate to a good defensive outfielder and a fired up player, thus far he's been neither. His defense appeared to have improved in LF and seems to being playing better in RF thus far, but if you judge his career as a whole he's a poor outfielder and is far from an emotional firey leader.
