AL/NL ROY given out tomorrow

Featured Replies

Good Luck Dontrelle, although imo Brandon Webb should get it over you

Furman, have you seen Webb's stats to end the year?

anyway, you think Podsednick eh?

While I don't know if he deserves the award for the whole year, Miguel should get consideration.

no doubt

Yea Cabby didn't play a full year. But what rookie bats cleanup in the playoffs. Cabby was huge in the playoffs. I hope everyone voting on Nl ROY watched the playoffs to see what cabby did. He's amazing, my vote is for cabby.

voting was done BEFORE THE PLAYOFFS

Winners should be either Webb or Podsednik in the NL, and Berroa or Gerut in the AL

I hope one of the Marlins rookies win but isn't the award based on regular season play and not postseason?

Correct.

Dontrelle's effect on the Marlins' was unmeasurable. He deserves the award. The man basically propelled the Marlins from garbage to the playoffs!

I still remember watching in Friday's they interviewed him after one of his starts and he said something about the playoffs. I was like "yeah!" and everyone around me just said "They aren't going to playoffs, face it." (This was in May, btw)

Look who got the last laugh :D

nice :lol

i wonder if they were still thinking that during the trophy presentation

Miguel won Rookie of the Month two times.

Podsednick won it once.

Dontrelle won it once.

Webb won it zero times.

Ironically, Miguel won't come anywhere near winning it, and Webb is arguably the best choice.

most likely its AL, Matsui and NL, Trizzle. but Webb and "My Man" Angel Berroa will finish close behind...

Angel probably deserves it but Matsui had all the attention this season

I agree completely. Stats alone don't get votes. He may have tailed off, but it was still a great regular season for him. When he began playing the way he did in the first half, it brought new life to this team and carried over the rest of the season and the playoffs.

That to me is worth more than any numerical stat.

I still can wait. I want Dontrelle to win, Its going to be hard to win over Podsenik but he can do it. 12-6 record with a 3.36 ERA.

I refuse to recognize Matsui as a rookie, plus IMO Berroa or Gerut deserve it more. But Matsui will win because he plays in New York :angry
