Daily Farm Report Thread 7/5-7/11

Jupiter had a double header yesterday. Easy way to see is if a game only goes 7 innings. Dominguez went 1-2 with a HR, SF, and 4 RBIs and Allison threw a CG (7ip CG) 1r 5k 0bb.

DoMing has kicked it up a notch lately - great to see. He's also got a name which would be awesome for a PA announcer to say. Number 34, Matt, DoMIIIIIIIINGuez!!!

Nice game for Allison.

Maybin is just ridiculous right now. He's finally showing some power and he's extended his hitting streak to 11 games (including 6 multi-hit games during that span). His season line sits at .343/.425/.497 (.922 OPS). Believe me, I understand the service time argument, but those numbers are hard to ignore.

One bright spot with West being sent down is his arbitration will probably be delayed till 2013. Perhaps it's wishful thinking on my part, but this could conceivably increase Maybin's chances of getting the call.

the service time arguement would only keep him down for about 5 more games thanks to the ASB

Going by Lou's post, we'd need to keep him down until September to ensure he doesn't get Super 2'd. That's what I meant by the service time argument.

Gotcha :thumbup

there's two service time arguements, one is that if we keep him down until the 19th we get an extra year of club control, the other is if we keep him down until september we get him super 2 free.

I agree that super 2 isn't that big of a deal because we should be looking at increased revenue and such and yadda yadda but the extra club control is huge so he needs to stay down until then in my opinion.

Agreed. I messed up on the service time calculations. Didn't realiize we hadn't already secured the extra year of club control from him. But yes, he should stay down until the 19th and hopefully get called up soon after.

Well, I'm back from St. Louis...earlier then I would have liked. I sat in a rain delay for 3+hrs, but a friend of mine that went with us had to be home in Chicago tonight, so we had to leave after only watching half an inning and the game hadn't started back up when we left. It was extremely disappointing, but the circumstances dictated what happened. I still had a really fun weekend. FanFest was pretty cool. I was able to get Stanton's autograph before the game. Seeing him in person is like...wow. He is huge, height and muscle. He's just a big dude. I didn't see him bat, but I watched his 2nd AB on television and I like his swing. He was crushing the ball in batting practice. I'll have to take a picture of the ball and upload it. Expect today's DFR later tonight.
