August 11, 200916 yr http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_baseball_marlins/2009/08/florida-marlins-where-does-chris-coghlan-stand-in-the-nl-roy-race.html good read
August 11, 200916 yr I find it funny that Andrew McCutchen wasn't even mentioned in that article. Randy Wells qualifies as a rookie, as well.

August 11, 200916 yr I find it funny that Andrew McCutchen wasn't even mentioned in that article. Randy Wells qualifies as a rookie, as well. who do they play for? I don't know why playing for a contender should matter (it never did before in ROY voting, did it?)...but even if you're basing it on that, Randy Wells pitches for the Cubs, and has arguably been the Cubs most consistent pitcher this year.
August 11, 200916 yr He's going to have to keep up what he has been doing the past few games throughout the remainder of the season to even have a chance IMO.
August 11, 200916 yr I think Wells would win it if he keeps his numbers up. He has been solid and probably Chicago's most consistent starter this season.

August 11, 200916 yr Yeah, isn't McCutchen having a monster year? BA: .292, 7 HR, 32 RBI, .838 OPS sorry i had wrong numbers before
August 11, 200916 yr Yeah, isn't McCutchen having a monster year? He's hitting .292 with 5 HR's 32 RBI's 9 SB's, .352 OBP and .486 SLG(828 OPS) Pretty Solid. Hanson has also had a solid season since his call up and you can't forget about Rasmus and Fowler.
August 11, 200916 yr What about Hanson, or that dude from LA.......ugh i can't remember his name, but he kinda looks like a werewolf.

I think the kid in LA your thinking about is Clayton Kershaw. However I believe he doesn't qualify as a rookie anymore as he was up for a while last year.
August 11, 200916 yr Pablo Sandoval, Andrew McCutchen, Colby Rasmus all have a better chance than Coghlan IMO

He's hitting .292 with 5 HR's 32 RBI's 9 SB's, .352 OBP and .486 SLG(828 OPS) Pretty Solid. coghlan's # are better though Not really but they are close. C.C.'s numbers: .286 BA, 6 HR, 27 RBI, .366 OBP, .415 SLG(.781 OPS) McCutchen has a higher AVG, more SB's more RBI's, Higher SLG% and OPS.
August 11, 200916 yr Pablo Sandoval, Andrew McCutchen, Colby Rasmus all have a better chance than Coghlan IMO Sandoval's not a rookie.
August 11, 200916 yr It was Rasmus's to lose at one point with few others even being in the conversation. Things can change over the course of as season.
August 11, 200916 yr Pablo Sandoval had 145 AB's last season so does that mean he still qualify's as a rookie? If he does then he's the ROTY hands down, along will Wells.

More Homers (in less AB), a slightly lower OBP, and his slugging is WAY HIGHER.

More Homers (in less AB), a slightly lower OBP, and his slugging is WAY HIGHER. Exactly. Plus, McCutchen has more HR's. Not Coghlan.
August 11, 200916 yr I would say its Rasmus's to lose. I would say that makes no sense. I edited it after the fact to make my point more clear.
August 11, 200916 yr Why do people keep bringing up Rasmus and his .248/.305/.416? He's not even a starter for the Cards anymore.
