November 11, 200322 yr c/o rotoworld.com Marlins sent RHP Kevin Olsen outright to Triple-A Albuquerque. Back in 2001, Olsen looked about as good as a finesse right-hander can look. Because he's regressed since then, he'll probably have a tough time getting another opportunity. He's ideally suited for pitching in Florida, so if he can't succeed with the Marlins, no one else is going to want to give him a chance. *Could be a cheap middle reliever next season. Marlins signed outfielder Ryan Christenson to a minor league contract. Christenson hit .176 in 165 at-bats for the Rangers last season. He should have only a slight chance of making the Marlins as a fifth outfielder. *No comment. Josh Willingham continues to play excellent baseball in the Arizona Fall League with the 2nd best OBP/SLG % numbers on the team. Stokes is still playing miserable and his in danger of falling below a .100 batting average (.138 currently)

November 11, 200322 yr Author well you can for get bout putting stolkes at 1st next year or the year after next!!!!!!!! word is that the rangers are gonna let Ralfy go and put Adrian at 1b next year there cutting pay roll as are the Zona shitbacks..... The D-Backs are apparently looking to unload Schill and trade for Sexson.
November 11, 200322 yr Stokes will Start the season after this (in 05) he is still 21... Maybe he is hiding a Injury....
November 11, 200322 yr For what it's worth, the 'Topes announced signings of a few players for next year: Pitchers David Manning, Aaron Small, Marty McLeary, Clint Sodowsky, Scott Sanders, Bryce Florie, Cedrick Bowers; C Matt Treanor; 3B and MVP Jason Wood. All but Manning, Florie and Bowers played for us last year. Also, former AA manager Tracy Woodson is the new manager in Albuquerque. Here are some stats to chew on: Bowers (AAA Durham): 4-3, 2 SV, 4.41 ERA, 32 G, 8 GS, 83.2 IP, 75 H, 41 ER, 39 BB, 80 K I can't seem to find Florie's stats....did he play last year?
November 11, 200322 yr I remember when Florie was nailed in the face by a comebacker.... i think it was in Boston.... that was awful
November 11, 200322 yr Olsen got hit too but Florie was hit as a Red Sox player a few years back it was a bloody mess
November 11, 200322 yr Aaron Small That name sounds very familar. Did he play for us at the big league level a while ago?
November 11, 200322 yr Author Aaron Small That name sounds very familar. Did he play for us at the big league level a while ago? He played for our minor league systems this year.
November 11, 200322 yr Found it. He played for us in 95' at the big league level. I knew his name sounded familar.
November 11, 200322 yr Found it. He played for us in 95' at the big league level. I knew his name sounded familar. Yeah....1.42 ERA in a handfull of games.
November 12, 200322 yr Josh Willingham 1b/C ??? I have a feeling Redmond will be gone no matter what, and IMO, Pudge is gone. If both leave, he will be Castro's backup.
November 12, 200322 yr While we're on the subject, I believe Scott Sanders will be in the bullpen next year for some odd reason.
November 12, 200322 yr It's either Redmond or Pudge, letting them both leave to put Castro would leave us really exposed at catcher. I don't think Castro will get acquitted to tell you the truth. Hopefully, he is innocent.
November 12, 200322 yr Damn Jason Stokes is suppose to be our best Prospect....like Marlindude said he is probally Hiding an injury. Maybe in spring training he will start to heat up again.
November 14, 200322 yr Adding on to the minor-league free agents signed, the Sun-Sentinel says that the Marlins signed P Delvin James and former Blue Jays IF Felipe Crespo. 2003 Stats: James (AAA Durham): 5-10, 5.23 ERA, 34 G, 21 GS, 137.2 IP, 172 H, 36 BB, 65 K Crespo (AAA Louisville): .244, 88 for 360, 43 R, 20 2B, 0 3B, 6 HR, 48 RBI, 43 BB, 54 K, 9 SB
November 14, 200322 yr Since none of you guys read :w00t , about Stokes, go check out the thread I started entitled 'Stokes'. There is an article that appeared on Floridamarlins.com that I reprinted there. It talks about his wrist injury.
