2009-10 Florida Panthers thread

For Erick (and any other posters on the Florida Panthers Message Boards), the boards have apparently been up since Monday, though the main website still links the old ones, and no announcement or link has been given. One person apparently found it and it's starting to spread. Please, dont even get me started with how annoyed I am about the new format and how stupid whoever moved the boards was.

Anyways, here is the link. And btw, if you go read my topic that I started "Boycott this crap! Okay not really." I cant stand SV. He basically wrote a response saying "leave" indirectly. Alls I'm sayin is... if it were a vote between me and him... lets just say dont let the door hit you on the way out SV.

At least something funny came out of it.

I don't like the new setup, either. http://www.marlinsbaseball.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/confused.gif

Yeah I was laughing my ass off as well. First off... "FanBoy" is so gay lol. That's like... what people call you to talk down to you. Nothing but a stupid fan boy.

Also... red wings lol. Like... who is it? Panthers? Blackhawks? Red Wings? I'm lost now lol.

It's even funnier, considering how much he hates the Red Wings, supposedly. Remember all the sh*t he talked about them? Go back to the Stanley Cup Finals thread, if you don't believe me.

That kid is not straight in the head.

Yeah, I know what you are talking about...

Really though, I've never seen him in person at any of the games, nor has anyone that I've talked to about him said anything. But I'm fairly certain he has some sort of problem. And if not, then wow... he is just one stupid kid.

But really... schizophrenia? Mental retardation? Or is he just the absolute opposite of internet savvy?

The Florida Panthers have shored up their blueline by agreeing to terms with defenceman Dennis Seidenberg on a one-year deal worth $2.25 million.

The veteran unrestricted free agent played last season with the Carolina Hurricanes. The 28-year old is entering his seventh NHL campaign, and is coming off his best offensive year in which he scored five goals and 25 assists.

Seidenberg began his career with the Philadelphia Flyers, and has also played for the Phoenix Coyotes. He was a sixth-round pick of the Flyers in the 2001 draft.

Nice signing for the Cats this close to the season. Certainly he'll help lessen the blow of losing Bouwmeester. They needed another veteran defenseman, and Seidenberg had a really solid year last year in Carolina. Plus, they have 2 other vets in camp for a tryout in Martin Skoula and Christian Backman. You hate to lose a #1 guy like JayBo, but they have done a nice job of acquiring depth on the backline. I think we'll be just fine defensively. I'm guessing the pairings will be:

Ballard-Leopold

Allen-McCabe

Seidenberg-Koistinen/Skoula

This will allow the youngsters to start the season in the AHL and develop.

Now if they can just get consistent goal scoring, maybe we'll make the playoffs one of these years!

Flipflop your two D pairings at top. Allen and McCabe would ideally be #1 and #2, mainly because Ballard is a good fit with Leopold. Ballard will probably be #2 in ice time next to McCabe, but it just doesn't work having Leopold playing top pairing ice time.

And Koistinen is going to be a special teams guy. Dont expect him to be there on the bottom pairing. Either a guy like Skoula gets signed (trust me, Backman sucks he wont get signed) or Ellerby/Kulikov gets a spot on our roster. Chances are Ellerby/Kulikov will get the spot, however. Expect the youngster to play with the experienced Seidenberg.

Also, chances are the Panthers will run 8 defenders on their roster. 23-man limit, 2 goalies, 8 defenders, 13 forwards. That's usually how the Cats run things. 3 will be scratched every game, so expect Koistinen and the next signee to miss more game than usual (or the rookies just wont get a spot, even though that's expected that they will) until of course... injuries kick in.

The Panthers won their 2nd preseason game against Ottawa, 2-1.

Both goals were powerplay goals. 1st rounder Dmitry Kulikov assisted on the first goal, and later scored the game-winning goal.

Tomas Vokoun and Tyler Plante combined to get the W tonight, in net. Vokoun played the first 2 periods, and Plante played the 3rd, stopping all 10 shots he faced.
