October 17, 200916 yr Author McCarver is a terrible announcer. Man, CC has been incredible this year.
October 17, 200916 yr Bah. A Yankee/Phillies WS would be awful to watch. Let's go Angels & Dodgers!!!
October 18, 200916 yr Well now I understand why they made right field so short at Yankee stadium, so A-Rod's hit that is usually a fly ball out becomes a game tying home run.

More specifically, appreciate watching a fantastic, clutch, baseball player during his Hall of Fame career. Though, wouldn't be the first time a team designed a stadium to a player's strength.
October 18, 200916 yr Well I've read a lot about A-Rod, so I can't say I'm happy for the guy. He's a great player, but the steroids do diminish his career achievements in my eyes, I like to see the game played clean. I don't give a damn if it was the "culture" or w/e, cheating is cheating. If you were taking a test, and everybody was passing around the answers of the test while the teacher wasn't looking, does that make it right to cheat? No. And back on topic, this game is way too long.

I let off on the "steroids cheater bastard!" thing for two reasons. 1) Too many guys have come out and there was no punishment for it when he did it. 2) When I found out that Hank Aaron admitted to doing greenies early in his career and that other HOFers might have done it too. Hell, Gaylord Perry cheated WAY MORE than any of the steroids guys and he's in the HOF.

The whole "it's about effort, and you're bad if you're a cheater" thing. "Cheating" just = trying to get results. Your efforts are meaningless without results. I'm pretty sure you cheated on a test at least once in your life too, so that's a bad example. I mean, at one point or another, everyone had to cheat on at least one test...right? I mean, I'm pretty sure we've all had our share of clueless teachers. Also, why is it so wrong for Alex Rodriguez to "cheat," yet when bums like Alex Sanchez do it...it's irrelevant? Quite honestly, I could care less about steroids. It's their body...their lives. At the end of the day, steroids don't teach hand-eye coordination, either.
