Miami Heat 09-10 Season Thread

Featured Replies

Loved Watching Dwight Howard getting frustrated last night when the Heat were just raining down shots.

I'm glad Miami has a player that can play basically as Howard's kryptonite in J.O. as he draws Howard away from the paint with his shooting ability giving the lane to players like Beasley, Wright and Wade.

I'm also liking this new lineup with Arroyo starting over Mario because Arroyo seems to just move the ball around quicker and he's everywhere on the court trying to help his teammates.

Heat need to continue this win streak til the New year to get back into contention for the top 4 spots in the East.

There is practically no shot of the Heat getting into the top 4, the Hawks, Magic, Cavs, and Celtics are on another level from the rest of the pack. However, we basically have the 5th seed locked up already with every other team being under .500, and the fact the team right behind up, the Bucks, have struggled tremendously since the start of the season (although we have too).

This team as a whole has been frustrating, watching Wade struggle so much is sad. But in all this Wade criticism, somebody most of us didn't expect to totally show up this year, has.

I've gotta give mad props to Michael, "B-Easy", Beasley. I didn't have faith in you to begin the year, and you didn't start off the year well, but you have finally started to gain a hell of a lot better shot selection. Michael is still very inconsistant and you don't know whether he will show up from night to night, but he is starting to shoot over 50% more often than not, which is great improvement for him. His ability to cleanly get to the basketball has improved more than many expected, and he's finally challenging Wade for minutes in crucial moments of games.

I love you Chalmers, but you are way too passive with the ball. I understand you aren't the star on this team, but when you do get aggressive, good things always seem to happen. Chalmers needs to control the offense more, and I understand Arroyo has played a lot better than Chalmers lately, but we all know Chalmers is overall still the better option at PG short and long term.

Jermaine O'Neal has played lately about what we expected lately, so I can't be upset with him. He is what he is.

Wade needs a lot of help next year, with probably only Beasley, Cook, Chalmers, Anthony, and Wade are the only guys who will be on this team next year. Wade is obviously an if, but this team won't be anywhere near the same next season.

We all understand that we are probably the 15th best team in the NBA as a whole and the 5th best team in the East, but I think if Wade ever catches fire late, we are a dangerous team. Right now the season is obviously a formality. The East is so weak we are going to be a 5th seed with the bad supporting cast we have, so we will face the Hawks again. Last year Wade played extremely well late in the year, but when we faced the Hawks is was very hot and cold. He needs to really get on fire.

Sorry, got sidetracked quite a bit.

The Morale of this entire post is WE ARE WHO WE THOUGHT WE WERE!

:D

WTF? How did Wade only get 2 FTA's tonight? Did he forget to bribe the refs before the game tonight?:p 13-31 FGA's. Richardson was 7-7 from 3 tonight. Wow!

Although the numbers may be a tiny bit skewed, Wade today looked a little bit like his last year self.

Hopefully we can win this game, and we can keep up this kind of intesity the rest of the year.

Heat win over Indiana 114-80. They were up 98-60 after 3.

What a boring season this is gonna be. The Heat have the 5th seed locked up with 54 games to go.

Hopefully, 21 of 29 on the road is no easy task.

the east is so lopsided. there are like 4 really good teams and then the rest. while in the west, other than the lakers, the next 9 or so teams are equally talented and could beat each other on a given night.

That was a great team to go and watch live!

Such a lopsided win with plenty of dunks and great offensive and defensive efforts. Wade and J.O. pretty much singlehandedly wrecked the Pacers in the 1st quarter.

It was hilarious because by the 3rd quarter all they were doing was one pass then score almost every possession.

I'm loving Arroyo as our starting Point Guard because he seems to run the offense alot smoother and quicker then Chalmers does with a lot less turnovers per assist. Chalmers however is still our future but he seems to be going through a sophomore slump.

Hopefully we bring this great performance with us on the road to get at least 13 or 14 out of the 21.

Correction: 4 really good teams, the Heat, then the rest. It really is amazing ho bad the East is right now. I thought the East was catching up to the West. What happened?I guess Chicago, Detroit, and Philly fell off a cliff.

Heat have made a valient comeback attempt against the Hornets.

I am confused why Cook is playing late in the game

Heat down to the Spurs 58-49 at the half. Its last night all over again. I hope it doesn't end the same way.

Everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong for the Heat except no ones been injured. They just tipped in a missed Spur fre throw. Down by 22 84-62 with a minute in a half to go in the 3rd.

I should say, Michael Beasley looks beast with an afro. Should where his hair like that more often.

This team is meltdown. They just have no clue. We'd better enjoy Wade while he's still here. I don't think that'll be much longer.

Maybe they read my post about them being locked into the 5th seed. That's the last time the won.

the bobcats have been a pretty good team since acquiring stephen jackson but the heat still should have beat them. i'm thinking that felton, wallace, and captain jack are a good enough core to get the cats to their first playoff appearance.

Quinn, a future 2nd round pick(2012) and cash was treaded to the Nets. Also the Nets released Alston and Miami is looking to sign him(he appears very interested aswell).

Rafer Alston coming to Miami sounds good to me. Sure, he's had a rough start to the year, but so have the rest of the Nets. A change of scenary should do Alston well, and I think Miami is the right place for him.

Would be a very good, most likely very cheap signing.

Sucks for Chalmers though, he's now 3rd string after being the starter just a few weeks ago.

EDIT: Miami will save $600,000 from the luxury tax, even after signing Alston.

This may not make Chalmers the 3rd string PG. My guess is the Heat still cuts Arroyo tomorrow. Arroyo has shown to be more effective starting then coming in with the 2nd unit, so what good is keeping him around to play limited minutes? Teams can start signing guys to 10 day contracts today. There are any number of players that can fill the Quinn 3rd string role and cost the Heat basically nothing.

Yeah, Arroyo is gone, considering his contract becomes guaranteed if they don't release him today ($1.1 million at stake).

The Heat are now $1 million over the luxury tax, which Miami said they want to get under, so moves to release some cap space may be expected to come after this one.

Oh man!!! I loved Alston when he played that year with us. He is a PURE point guard, not just another undersized 2 guard like Chalmers is. He will be wonderful for us. I still remember that shot he made fading away from Bradley against Dallas LOL That guy was HUGE!!

This has to be the 2nd most heartbreaking loss this season, right behind the Lakers game.

We had it in our hands, and just screwed it up.

The biggest positive, Wade has been back for quite some time. Glad to see the real Wade back playing for the Heat. Going on the road for so long is going to be brutal, we may and probably will be under .500 by the time we are done.

And Arroyo is still on the team, so this probably means Alston coming to the Heat may have just died down a bit. If they were going to get Alston, they would've released Arroyo before today's game.

Alston will sign with Miami tomorrow, there's no dought about that, you can call and ask him yourself.

In another note, why are we lossing all the dramatic games this year? Just when we were winning all of them last season.
