Miami Heat 09-10 Season Thread

Featured Replies

I was 2 off our win total last year, so here's my predictions.

1) 45 wins this year. We are barely a playoff team sadly, probably around a 6th seed.

2) Other than that, this season is more to try and get past the first round to try and convince Wade to stay.

3) Our team is kinda garbage other than Wade. Chalmers is young, Beasley is a guy who when he goes to the basket shoots it all over the place, and still has an incomplete jump shot. Jermaine O'Neal needs to step up if we want to compete, but sadly I expect him to fall apart and injure himself.

And our best chance at success sadly was getting Lamar Odom, and that didn't happen. Wade himself gets up 42 wins alone, so I'll throw in an extra 4.

Damn, I'm getting myself depressed going into this season. This may be the last year we get to see Wade in a Heat uniform :(

they're going to be in the same spot, maybe worse than last season. unfortunately they've already thrown the white flag up this season by not signing or trading for anyone that'll help. i know the 2010 offseason is what they're aiming for, but having wade on your team in his prime and not doing sh*t about it? f***ing ridiculous.

There's no way Wade is leaving. The Heat will be in the best position of any team next Summer as far as free agency. This is gonna be a lame duck season for sure. Unless Beasley becomes the player he was expected to be when he was drafted. Then maybe the Heat can make some noise.

BTW, Heat pick up '10-'11 options for Cook and Beasley, making them the only players under contract next year for the Heat atm.

I love Cook, hope to see him on the Heat for a long, long time.

Beasley...the jury is out.

GO HEAT TONIGHT!!!

Im happy to see that Beasley is finally starting, after all he IS the future and while we all love the UD for his heart and passion, we need Beasley's offense more. Haslem should bring great toughness and intensity off the bench. Hopefully he embraces his role like Odom for the Lakers.

Here's to a good season where we see progress from our young guys. GO HEAT!

If Riley wouldn't refuse to play Beasley at SF, then we would have been able to see Haslem start tonight instead of Quentin Richardson.

eh, I'm not a fan of Q Rich, and I think Beasley's game fits better at SF, but he was drafted to be a PF, guess he's gotta prove himself at that position.

Anyway, just don't give Rich the ball that much, kthnx

EDIT: Always a nice opener when you have a 31 point lead before the 4th quarter starts

JO and Cook are players of the game. They both look nothing like last season. JO looks healthy again and Cook has improved his game by alot.

I also think Beas played better D at SF.

I sadly wouldn't read too much into Beasley's 21 points, the Knicks played some soft inside D on him. It'll be interesting to see how he'll match up against Noah and Thomas next game.

I love how Chalmers looked so composed out on the court, love Chalmers on this team, just love him.

Cook is very inconsistant, we all know that, but when he is on, he is on. And we saw some of that today.

Awesome to see JO has that step back in his game, hopefully he can become a shadow of his Pacer self.

And off topic a little, but Galinari just seemed to make every 3 pointer attempted in that 4th quarter. 7 on the game, and half of the Knicks total attempts were beyond the arc. I think that shows some bad discipline from the Knicks, and reflects poorly upon its coach. You have Lee on the inside and they ignored him most of the 2nd half. Guess that's why the Knicks will be picking in the top 10 again.

Overall, encouraging performance, but I think facing the Bulls will show a little more about the character of this team going forward.

And I was just gonna ask why Stern hasn't rigged another draft for the Knicks like he did with Patrick Ewing.

hahaha its awesome to see bitter NY fans like you always talking smack because your teams are garbage. Keep it up :thumbup

bitter about what?

michael beasley?

sure he's one of the GREAT all time college freshman but he's not going to be a star in this league. too much of a tweener.

wade is amazing but he's going to be the next t mac pretty soon. plays the game too violent. he won his championship and that's great but he has few years left with the game he plays. You guys will give him the 130M extension, he'd be dumb not to take it.

Finally a win in Indy! 2-0!

JO looks healthy and awesome so far. 22 and 12 for a second straight game. Beasley 12 and 9. Wade with 32. Great effort all around.

Beasley still has one of the ugliest drives to the baskets I have ever seen.

This kind of start I expected, however I did not expect JO to be our best player for the first two games.

As I stated earlier, our first true test is coming Sunday against the Bulls. They didn't show up against the Celtics, so expect them to be looking out to redeem themselves against the Heat.

3 And 0, 3 AND 0!!!!!!!!

D Wade looks as good as ever and we are getting great production form Haslem, Chalmers, Beasley, J.O. and Haslem. All we really need is for Q to step it up and give us a solid 3 or 4 3's a night.

Also, wheres James Jones? Is he hurt?
