Hotcorner
Nothing earth-shattering, but nevertheless a nice article on Leo's season from fangraphs.com. It's a little stat-intensive but the gist is this season (though limited innings) ground ball rate up, strikeout rate up, walk rate down. Probably from throwing changeups more often. And though he was just okay in '09, the Marlins gave him arby money this season and they've been well-rewarded. All in all, good return for Mike Jacobs. The end. :thumbup The Lion Roars - Leo Nunez' 2010 Awesomeness
Schnellders
With all the criticism directed towards the front office the past few days, this move a couple of winters ago deserves great credit, trading away a low average, strikeout prone, poor defensive 1B in Jacobs for a really good reliever (closer) who just happens to be the best on the team right now and has been basically all season
afer13
And he's an unbelievably nice guy... Was throwing ball after ball after ball to little kids near the BP during last nights game. Super nice of him to do that for opposing teams fans, imo.
Hotcorner
Speaking of which, shouldn't his nickname be "The Lion" by now? Have we overlooked this very important point?
Erick
Speaking of which, shouldn't his nickname be "The Lion" by now? Have we overlooked this very important point? I don't know if it's coincidence, but that's actually a fitting nickname, considering he's Dominican.
MrMarlinPride
El Leo or The Lion works for me. I know L.O.L.(Lights Out Leo) was previously used.
Sirspud
I'm still for the nickname "bubbles".

gizmo
The Lion is cool, but I am partial to Lights Out Leo.
