2011: Last year at Sun Life...

I'd be upset but I'd wet my pants laughing if after the final home game of 2011, Sun Life is playing Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye as we all walk out of the stadium!

Question though, what do you guys think the attendance will be like for the final home game next year? Part of me thinks it'll be packed because people wanna say they were there... BUT then again, if the casual fans havent cared to this point, theres no guarantee they'll care (or even act like they care) to bid our Sun Life years a good farewell.

I know I'll be there, celebrating the positive memories. On the way out, I'll give it the middle finger, but during the game I'll enjoy the good memories.

Maybe if it was the last game for the stadium and not just the last game for the Marlins in the stadium people would care. Although maybe not. That stadium has no character anymore. Its a corporate whore.

I was going to write something, but I'll wait and write a article. Some cool ideas that will never happen though.

Depends on when the final home game is. Playoffs, packed. Regular season game, probably about what we have been getting the final home game every year.

I think more people will be there. It'll be like a church on Easter/Christmas. No one cared during the season, but they'll care when the media starts covering it, showing clips of '97 and '03...

I hope we don't have to find out. The final home game at JRS would be so much better if it were a WS game.

amen to that.do u think they will have luis castillo do the number on opening day since hes on the mets and a big art of the marlins history?

That reminds me... what will they do about the "Countdown till 2012" thing they have going in LF?

Will it start the season at 78?

Will it magically skip 3 "home games" while we are away in the City of Coffee?

Who knows. They did 3 of them in Puerto Rico last year.

And I believe they "magically skipped" those 3 games when the team was away. Didn't they move the countdown to P.R.??? I bet Opening Day the countdown is at 81.

Yeah, they did move the countdown to PR. That's not really "skipping" it though.

By skipping it I meant they didn't start the season off here with those 3 games already off the countdown even tho they knew where those games were going to be played, which is the theme of the original question.

I would wonder more if they do something on TV for the countdown while in Seattle. Wouldn't be like in PR where they were trying to drum up more interests for the locals. But something on our local stations to drum up more season ticket sales.

The countdown is for regular season home games to be played before the new stadium opening, not games at Sun Life Stadium. They had it in PR and I'm sure they'll either have it or in the very least mention it in Seattle.
