Sirspud
I don't know how many guys here are following the Dolphins, but Pat White missed the start of training camp and reports are now coming out that White has a "serious Issue" and could miss the entire season. No word on what the serious issue is, but he has already been put on the PUP list by the Dolphins though he is not supposed to be injured. Speculation is that he could be pondering a return to baseball, but all information regarding him or the exact nature of what is going on is unknown, even to his family at the moment. I hadn't seen a Dolphin QB play worse since Ray Lucas, but this is still really disappointing because word was that he was going to come to camp much improved, and I wanted to see what he could do as a man on a mission to prove his doubters wrong. There's obviously something serious going on with him, and for all I know it could have something to do with him nearly being killed the last time he was in an NFL game. I'm hoping that whatever is going on with him, that things work out for him personally.
Erick
He should return to baseball; at the very least, change positions in football.
Sirspud
I was mistaken; he hasn't been place on PUP yet. I don't think he is an NFL QB but when it comes down to it, I don't think he could play any other position on the field. The one thing he could do is what the Dolphins envisioned him being- a guy being nothing more than a gadget play trigger. But he really doesn't have the size to play RB or WR, nor did he have the size to play QB. He was tiny, and what happened in the Steelers game sadly was not surprising. A guy as small as he is and who isn't faster than everyone on the defense like he was in college just isn't meant to be on an NFL field, at least not with White's playing style. I Love Me Some Fish
Waste of a 2nd round pick....oh well
Anonymous
He isn't tiny anymore. He's pretty big now, actually. Still, I'm not sure about him playing QB when we have Pennington and Thigpen on the roster. I think him denying to play a position other than QB is the problem/
MiamiLifer247
If return to baseball: Setup man for Nuñez? Long reliever? innings eater? someone get him a teal jersey and a glove!
The Teal and Black Attack
Aaaaaand he's already back at training camp today. Sparano talks to the media at 12:30 today, so I am sure this will be something that comes up.
Fish Dynasty
Yeah, I just got back from training camp and he was out there throwing. He didn't seem to be in any type of pain. By the way, (for anyone else who has seen him) is it me, or does Jake Long look like he lost 50 pounds?
Rabbethan
Yep, Pat's fine.
dim
Problem for White is he's not a better QB than Henne, Pennington, or Thigpen. Unless Pennington isn't ready at the start of the season or the Dolphins for some reason decide to keep 4 QB's, Pat White seems like the obvious person to cut. Also, I don't think position change will be an option. Dolphins have been insistent that they drafted him as a QB, they don't seem to want to try him at other positions such as WR. I don't think it would really work, but it would be worth at least a shot.

dim
I'm pretty sure he can throw a football and scramble better than nearly every person not playing in the NFL. Hell, he led West Virginia to a couple Big East championships and within a game of the BCS Championship. He's was a really good scrambling QB at the college level, however in the NFL he has to make throws 10+ yards, and that's the issue. In college he threw screen passes mostly and ran the ball with the occasional deep ball. In hindsight, White maybe should've considered a position change or playing baseball with the Yankees minor league team.

McFly
Wouldn't matter if he did or didn't miss the season.
Sirspud
Some reporter obvious jumped the gun on this. Sadly, when it comes to the Dolphins its all too easy to believe these type of stories when they happen.
