  1. anyone have any luck attending the practices in the backfields at RDS? I'm thinking of making the trip on monday
  2. heading up to Jupiter on friday to catch a Fish / Cards practice, and going to Fanfest on Saturday... heading to Orlando Sunday & Monday for Disney with the fam and catching Braves practice both mornings.... thank god it's finally Spring Training!!!
  3. didn't think about that but if someone of this forum knows them let me know. the original photo is over 4 megs so it's pretty big, I can email it.
  4. Louis's season tix is a couple of rows ahead of mine, snapped this photo on 2010 Opening Day here in Miami. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/kN7Rn0aS8_4aapJhOCCxvQ?feat=directlink check on photo below to expand My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends...
  5. Moyer has repeatedly said on his twitter account he will be coming back, the man is a Marlins killer. Would be nice to see him here but pretty sure he is looking for a starter role so a seat in the pen is out of the question, he is trying to reach 300 wins and he is very close (about 1 1/2 season away at his current rate as a starter).
  6. Well i just wanted to know whats the price for approximately 2 season tickets to the new stadium in the ''bullpen reserve area''? you're looking at $2k each, $4k total that is the same package I got... I will most likely not be in miami by 2012 but got the tickets anyway, figure I can come down on NJ as much as possible to catch them on the weekends. If you want to split a pair 50%/50% lmk... maybe we can work something out. Direct Message me if interested.
  7. Internships a full time and paid, have talked to a couple of the current interns and they also get game tixs comp.
  8. Pudge is signed for next year so we'd have to trade with the Nats to get him. He has a 2 yr $6 mil deal with them The Nats have already flagged that Pudge will be sharing catching duties with their next young catcher (50/50 split), Pudge has also made it clear he wants to play until he reaches 3000 hits, this means another season and a half worth of full time playing to accumulate the number of hits he needs for that milestone.... he is signed cheap too (other post have the exact $ amount) Would make sense for Marlins to sign him to a $3MM per year contract, the PR hype leading up to 3000 would be a big deal too as they move into the new stadium.
  9. 1) The Vuvuzela's / Cowbells /Clappers can get annoying 2) If you have one ITS ALOT OF FUN during the game! 3) If you have a problem with it you can dial 1-800- WAH-HHHH!!!
  10. 790 The Ticket is hosting Fan Appreciation Day on Sept. 20th LOWER BOWL tickets are $5.00 each http://www.790theticket.com/790fanappreciationday.aspx heads up that this is a 3:10pm game!
  11. Interesting No one had BROUGHT UP THE MIAMI HEAT as a wildcard.... They will be working on their 3rd st8 year of sellouts... Just saying for the casual sports they will have nothing other than how great the HEAT are and this has to cannibalize into the Entertaimnet dollars that Marlins will also be chasing. Most people on this forum are more hardcore marlins/baseball fans in general than the casual fan. I already have my full season 2012 tix reserved
  12. 1. Sign Uggla long term. 2. Release Nolasco. 3. Use Nolasco money to help BP and catcher? 4. Introduce whacky fun Sunday's. Where Uggla has to do the robot dance before every at bat. 5. Have Hanley on Shaq vs if it gets a third season. Love this list, you left out 6. One Hour special on " UnMasking Lil' Billy" , turns out Samson has been wearing the Lil' Billy costume all these years! All in an effort to save more money.
  13. Definitly not mind seeing Pudge in a Marlins uni? The man is a 1st ballot HOFer, if the front office wants a Solid Catcher get Pudge... I already go to all home games but pretty sure getting Pudge would also get more butts in the seats! Also, punks like Nyjel Morgan wouldn't pull that stuff he did to Brett Hayes had it been pudge!

  15. MiamiLifer247, your numbers are wrong. I'm just taking a quick break from a movie night so I'm not going to check them right now but the Marlins net income was $29M that year. That said, their net income was $3.9M last year and the team overall is $61M in debt, negative equity. Also, the fact that Double Play, which is the business which is in the contract with the County and City (as opposed to Florida Marlins LP) doesn't mean he's pocketing money at all. I believe it's Double Play that is paying for the stadium, so it'd make sense for money to go from Florida Marlins LP to Double Play. The Net Income I quoted was 2008 since it was their last year of normal operations. 2009 will include extra expense due to building reserves for new stadium related activities, the 2009 income statement also includes $10.7M of expenses related to ballpark related expenses (2nd page of deadspin doc). Also in 2009 they could have already been expecting that MLB was going to come down on them for not reinvesting the revenue sharing money, the smart thing for them to do would have been to build additional reserves to stash more money on the balance sheet and keep it from being reported as income. Good catch on that I used 2008 data... it is better a gauge for true normal operating year.
