November 20, 201015 yr I'd love to get him for a fair price (minor league contract). I mean, I think he'd be great as a long-reliever and would bring veteran leadership to clubhouse. As a long reliever he could see less innings, so his chances of remaining healthy are much better. Thoughts on bringing the Marlin killer to SoFlo? He already lives here for crying out loud!
November 21, 201015 yr Pretty sure he's going to retire, at least that's what I've heard. I also doubt that if he plays another year, he takes a minor league contract. He's going to require some kind of MLB deal.
November 21, 201015 yr A 70 year old pitching regularly in the heat and humidity of SoFla is a disaster waiting to happen......
November 21, 201015 yr So apparently that $33 million thing was incorrect. apology to javy. 33M is nuts. RT @joecapMARLINS Sorry, the $ number ... (on) Javier Vazquez was incorrect. editing error. have no idea on $
November 21, 201015 yr Moyer has repeatedly said on his twitter account he will be coming back, the man is a Marlins killer. Would be nice to see him here but pretty sure he is looking for a starter role so a seat in the pen is out of the question, he is trying to reach 300 wins and he is very close (about 1 1/2 season away at his current rate as a starter).

November 21, 201015 yr Old people come here to die! I showed up here in 1980. I was 28. Better late than never. Florida had and has two natural advantages: 1) No snow. 2) No individual income tax. Having spent 27 nasty winters in Minnesota (which also has a very nasty individual income tax,) it was, what shall we say? Would that be a no-brainer? Everyone should endeavor to die here.

November 21, 201015 yr Not when Zach Duke and Jeff Francis will sign on the cheap. I'm sure we could pay Moyer in bran at this point.

It gets just as hot in NYC in New England, if not hotter during the summer. Not to mention he plays in Florida half the time anyways when he faces us.
November 21, 201015 yr Does anybody know the rules for Social Security benefits if you have a multi-million dollar baseball contract?
