He was a beast a American Heritage in Plantation. He basically forced himself onto the roster putting up those numbers in the PCL this year. I dropped Jesus Montero in favor of him for my fantasy team yesterday figuring the Royals could not ignore him much longer. About 5 hours later it was announced he was getting the call. :shifty I'm looking forward to seeing what the kid will do.
May 6, 201115 yr Always good to see a local guy make it big. Guy OPSed 1.107 this year in AAA. He's 21. He'll be something to watch.
May 7, 201115 yr Author He's facing Gio Gonzalez (another local player). The A's also have Cardenas on their triple A team I believe.
May 14, 201115 yr Pitched against him once when I was in 8th grade and he was a senior I believe at a showcase and I got the kid to flyout to shallow right field, he then proceeded to drop a 400 foot bomb the next time he faced me on the 1st pitch...

May 17, 201115 yr i got an opportunity to see him when he played at against Palm Beach Central. He proceeds to hit an oppo shot in the 1st inning against our top pitcher at the time. He also came in to try and close the game in on the mound. Threw 95+ with a nasty curve and rolled up his sleeves. Looked intimidating. We proceeded to walk off and send us into the next round in districts
May 17, 201115 yr Author I remember seeing him as a senior and and man did he have some bat speed. Kid somked a liner right to the second basemen and the second basemen ducked. I'm pretty sure it would have ripped of the kids arm off had he caught it. From what I heard he made quite a few second and first basemen duck in HS. Is anyone else reminded of Raul Ibaneaz when they seem him at the plate? I think they have similar swings.
