New Manager, new coaches?

CC wasn't good at all, regardless of which defensive metric you're using.

If by "surprise," you mean: "he wasn't Mike Jacobs in CF," then yes; he wasn't the absolute worst, I guess.

Like I said, the good defensive players played good defense; the bad defensive players played bad defense.

I just don't see how you can consider him bad in center for a first year player. We've had this debate before so there's really no point in bringin it back up. Movin on.

To be honest, I was taking from memory. I had forgotten that he had a really bad month defensively after having a good month. I was remembering posts like this:

I'm not worried about Coghlan's arm. Unless the nagging shoulder injury he had in Spring Training is really bad, his arm really isn't terrible. Quite honestly, I'm really impressed with his defense so far. Imagine if he had a full month worth of Spring Training games; he's doing this, having played like a handful of games at the position, before the season started.

At this point, I expect him to get somewhat better the more he plays it. Definitely doesn't look lost out there.

Coghlan (+2.4 UZR) has also been a pleasant surprise, although that's not too surprising, based on early observations.
