Now is both a great time and a terrible time for me to be unemployed with all the great games coming out.

-Skyward Sword

-Battlefield 3/MW3

-Skyrim

Plenty of time to play these, no money to buy them :(

The trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 came out today. It's nice to see some color in the game, as opposed to the dreary visuals of GTA 4. Some people think that the protagonist is Vice City's Tommy Vercetti, but Ray Liotta's reps confirmed that he is not the voice in the trailer.

Here's the trailer:

I haven't looked too much into it (and I'm now officially a DM Minor, flippy floppy because I hear FIEA doesn't give two shits what your major is)...

Where is the setting?

Back in San Andreas it seems. I loved San Andreas so I'm pretty happy about that.

Hmm... odd that they didn't go somewhere like London, Hong Kong, or Chicago.

And if a repeat (I know London is a 'repeat'), then I really think they should've gone in order. Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas.

Either way, still exciting.

Eh, I actually don't think I would've liked another Vice City setting. It was perfect with the whole 80's theme going, but a modern day setting in Vice City doesn't excite me as much.

In fact, if I recall correctly, GTA is always an October release.

San Andreas was out in May sure? Think I remember getting it just after exams in prep for summer

Just checked - October 26th, 2004 was the NA release date.

Unless you were running on XBOX at the time, in which case the game wasn't released for XBOX. They got the game much later, can't remember when though but I remember GTA coming over to XBOX was a big deal.

Anyone else besides me and Dr Beinfest picking up Call of Duty?

It's excellent.

You can tell Treyarch put their grubby little paws on it, but really they only took the good things from their series, such as the great little add on things like the money system. They kept that whole 'statistic' feel from Black Ops, too. But it's with an Infinity Ward in-game feel. The best of both worlds, really. And it's got its own version of Nazi Zombies, minus the actual zombies. Very cool, I approve. So you can all go to hell for saying bust ;)

Now for TES IV: Skyrim.... tomorrow night!!!!

Tomorrow night? It doesn't come out till Friday.

Err sorry, I meant Thursday night. I was thinking today was Wednesday.

How dare you confuse me.

I'm probably going to hold off on Skyrim for a bit. MW3 and Zelda: Skyward Sword shall suffice me for a while

Yeah, I'll hold off on Skyrim until Thanksgiving. I'll be itching to play it, but I know better than to do that while in school :lol

I got Skyrim on release, but haven't played much. To be honest, games like that intimidate me due to the sheer amount of things to do.

However, I will say that of what I have played so far, it's f***ing amazing. Especially if you were already a fan of the other Elder Scrolls titles.

Yeah, Skyrim intimidates me too. But once you get into it, that goes away of course (as it happened with Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas).

Damn though... my AC is broken and the xbox/TV/laptop duo really heats this room up big time.

I played Skyrim for 6 hours today and didn't realize it............give in.
