State your case. Also, state your case for the best Bond gals if you'd like.

I have a soft spot for Pierce Brosnan, since my first Bond movie was Goldeneye (my favorite to date). I also went with Judi Dench, because she is awesome.

Ranking the Bonds:

1) Pierce Brosnan

2) Sean Connery

3) Daniel Craig

4) Tie - Dalton and Moore

I still haven't seen On Her Majesty's Secret Service, so I can't rank Lazenby.

Updated with more questions! Sorry, I kinda effed up on posting the topic too quickly (accidentally).

Anyways, I agree gizmo, Goldeneye is my favorite film as well. Although there's not forgiving Brosnan for Die Another Day.

I would vote, but the bubble I'm supposed to click on is mysteriously missing.....

Sorry I got hungry.

How is Goldeneye not on the list?!

For worst Bond film? Go to hell.

Come on MarlinsBaseball, you can Bond it better than that.

Moore was complete hit or miss, I wouldn't call his films forgettable at all. Dalton was phenomenal in my opinion at bringing back a more Connery -esque Bond (kinda what Craig is trying to do?).

And out of pure nostalgia I do enjoy 3 of the 4 Brosnan films, including Tomorrow Never Dies. Although I can see how that one could be lame, but I grew up on those (plus the video games). Although I don't get what's wrong with The World Is Not Enough? Seems like a pretty decent Bond film in my opinion even without the bias.

I love The World Is Not Enough, the N64 game was pretty awesome too.

Roger Moore had some decent Bond movies, namely Live and Let Die

For worst Bond film? Go to hell.

:D

I totally read the poll incorrectly, I apologize. Goldeneye is my favorite. It's a much better film than an of Brosnan's other 3 (which were all terrible. I mean really, Christmas Jones!?).

Also, Penguino, I have no idea how you can say The Living Daylights or License to Kill were "too campy". They were basically the opposite and the problem a lot of people have with those films is that they were "too dark", especially License to Kill.

I love The World Is Not Enough, the N64 game was pretty awesome too.

Just a horrible, horrible film.

I'm not putting the Dalton and Moore films on the same plane in terms of camp. The Moore films clearly have the edge in this respect because of the attempts at humor and ridiculous gadgets and premises. However, I fault the Dalton films--in different way--for some of the over the top action sequences (too 80s).

I mean personally I think both Dalton films did an excellent job at recreating the series, as well as re-energizing the James Bond character. It really brought back what Sean Connery started off with in my opinion, plus I really like both films. Which is why Dalton is my favorite Bond.

Anyone else not that excited by Bond films....?

He's there... he's been there since the start, too.

Although I went and checked and you did make me notice a typo in his name.

I, for one, am quite surprised at the spread of responses for 'moar treds like dis?'. I dunno about you guys...

So you all like your Englishmen Scottish, an old Dame telling you what to do, the last thing you'd like to be doing is having a war in space, and lastly you cite a quote from Goldfinger that doesn't even answer our final question.

Spectacular. Come on now. Where's that Bond discussion?

Must I save every thread? *sigh*

I'll start by giving a short review of a couple of Bond movies and then someone else posts for other movies, and so on.

1) Dr. No: The one that started it all. Not a whole lot of action in this one, but it does a good enough job of establishing the James Bond character as a suave, calculating killer of both ladies' hearts and henchmen.

2) From Russia With Love: Probably my second favorite Bond movie. The entire sequence in the train with Grant and Bond was brilliant. Also probably one of the most realistic Bond movies with no outrageous gadgets or sequences.

I'm just going to keep it going by going on and asking a going question.

Does anyone else own all the Bond films?

Most of them, but only because I never bought any of the volumes nor the sets. Just each individual film purchased at separate times, in all formats. GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies are my cherished VHS's. The rest can go to hell.
