EricWiener
Impact trauma releases a lot of chemicals and one of the ways that the brain will handle a lot of pain is to shut off for a bit.
Jonny Ramos
Impact trauma releases a lot of chemicals and one of the ways that the brain will handle a lot of pain is to shut off for a bit. Well, not exactly. The brain is design to release adrenalin when seriously injured, diminishing pain (also increasing blood flow to the brain). Every one of these mechanisms is the reason why YOU DONT faint with an injury. However, the reason why he fainted is because once time passed, his body got rid of that excess adrenalin, and that dramatic change from high to low is what made him faint (i think). ...
Who would ever have thought that there are so many people who are authorized to make a remote medical diagnosis without a license?
EricWiener
It also commands the release of endorphines and they can drop your blood pressure to the point where you take a time out. Absent a "flight or fight" situation that keep your adrenalin up, the body takes a breather.
EricWiener
Who would ever have thought that there are so many people who are authorized to make a remote medical diagnosis without a license? Yes, discussing why your body might shut off is completely the same as a remote medical diagnosis.

True CRaysball
I was literally terrified for Will until he stood up. After that I was a little worried about the possibility of blood clots until the official diagnosis was announced during pregame.

30plus
commentator said he stared to feel sick This I understand. The only thing I've ever broken is a rib, and I was extremely nauseous and unable to stand after it happened. I'm guessing he felt similarly. Michael
Can we change the thread title to "Ray's Will Rhymes faints" please? Each time I see it cut off to "Ray's Will Rhymes passe" on the main index, I think I'm about to read an obituary.
