Is there any chance you would consider switching the positives back so we could see what users "liked" a post?

I could do that if people wanted.

Yes. I need to know who my true friends are.

No way to do that in the current system but an interesting feature idea. If I could find a way to have it here and lessen the abuse, I'd have no problem bringing it back.

What I'd really like to do is be able to set it on a per user basis and just take it away from people who won't use it right.

Nah. Even if you put a cap, people would still find a way to abuse it. "I can only use 20 a day? All 20 to him and I'll be on it tomorrow!"

I doubt that people really cared that much to plan it out so deliberately. I noticed a couple of posters here getting downvoted a ton, but that was probably because their posts were very trolling (saying the same annoying stuff over and over) or just plain stupid.

Contrary, penguino. There was a specific poster who deliberately went through and down-voted all of my posts that he could find over a 3 day span because I upset him, totaling something around -30 or -40.

It sounds immature, childish, etc., sounds like nobody would do that and all... but people are immature and childish. And people would do that.

Oh. I wasn't aware of that. :lol

Every post I did had a negative 8 or so, even when trying to help others

I vote for permabans for users who abuse it.

I honestly didn't know people actually cared about this liking/disliking posts feature.

The forum is for us to have discussions and voice our opinions.

Who really cares if some random person "downvotes" your posts on a public message board?

Concentrate on the content; not the voting system.

I almost enabled the system again just to down vote every one of Das Texan's old posts.

Is there a fun story to this or... just cause?
