Posted August 28, 201311 yr Has anyone ever heard of this kid before? 24 years old with the Cardinals, lefty reliever, just saw him on MLB Network's game of the night. Throws 97 consistently, and in 28 innings, he's allowed only 2 runs while striking out 40. Very impressive numbers and stuff. I just watched him strike out Shin-Soo Choo, Todd Frazier, and Joey Votto in succession, the two lefties caught looking at 97 on the corners. Florida guy, too!
August 28, 201311 yr Woah that looks pretty impressive. He could be a dominant closer for a long time. The Cardinals always seem to have these guys that get to the Bigs and tear it up.
August 29, 201311 yr Ha, yeah, I've seen him - I was the official scorer for the Batavia Muckdogs when he pitched there in 2010. He threw hard, but he didn't strike me as someone who would be a future star or anything like that. I just looked at his stats and he had an ERA over 7 that year, so I guess that's why I don't have fond memories of him.
September 12, 201311 yr Yet another great arm in the Cardinal system. Amazing what quality scouting and player development will do for you...
September 12, 201311 yr I was visiting some relatives in St.Louis a couple months ago & went to a Cards-Reds game, what an awesome baseball town. Fans, history, everything.

September 13, 201311 yr Cardinals have so many options in the farm system its hard to say. They have a great ability to find talent then develop it. Who knows what this guy will do but I'm sure they have plenty more where that came from.
