Has anyone ever heard of this kid before? 24 years old with the Cardinals, lefty reliever, just saw him on MLB Network's game of the night. Throws 97 consistently, and in 28 innings, he's allowed only 2 runs while striking out 40. Very impressive numbers and stuff. I just watched him strike out Shin-Soo Choo, Todd Frazier, and Joey Votto in succession, the two lefties caught looking at 97 on the corners.

Florida guy, too!

Ha, yeah, I've seen him - I was the official scorer for the Batavia Muckdogs when he pitched there in 2010. He threw hard, but he didn't strike me as someone who would be a future star or anything like that. I just looked at his stats and he had an ERA over 7 that year, so I guess that's why I don't have fond memories of him.
