February 25, 201411 yr It feels like you are spamming us with these links to this amateur baseball journalism website. Is the author you or someone you know?
February 25, 201411 yr Or someone we all know? Personally, I'm enjoying them. I didn't read this one, but the other one was nothing special. Really amateurish writing. I hate it when people post things here when the intent seems mostly to generate traffic for their personal blogs or sites.
February 26, 201411 yr Author I didn't read this one, but the other one was nothing special. Really amateurish writing. I hate it when people post things here when the intent seems mostly to generate traffic for their personal blogs or sites. I am the author, but it isn't my website. Sorry that you felt like I was spamming the board, I'll try to limit how often I post links to the articles. It's a new website that's just getting started, but the guys in charge have some great ideas and I'm excited to be a part of it. I'm definitely not just posting to generate traffic. I've been on this board (MB.com) since 2004 so I'm not just stopping by to link to something else. I just feel like (especially in the offseason or the beginning of Spring Training) we could really use some more conversation around here. Anyway, thanks to those that have read it and appreciated it, and I apologize to those that have not. If you would be willing to help me out at all, what about my writing seems amateurish to you? Is it something specific or just a general overall sense? I am honestly not saying this to be confrontational, just looking for any tips that could make me more effective at covering the Marlins.
February 26, 201411 yr I do some writing. Your writing is fine. The style is well-suited to the subject matter, you're well organized, and you're very readable. As I said, I've been enjoying it.
February 26, 201411 yr Just my opinion... This article was way too long. Instead of focusing on all the free agents, you could've just focused on what you think the Marlins need since it seems like you're just covering the Marlins. For example, you could've just compared and contrasted Clayton Richard and Joe Saunders or something like that since you apparently feel like we could use a starter. Aside from that, I don't agree with the opinion that we shouldn't consider any bullpen arms even on a minor league deal, but everyone's entitled to an opinion. I don't think that your writing is bad. If you wrote the Hechavarria thing, one could make an argument that you're already better than Joe Frisaro.

I started out thinking I'd only point out a few but then got bored at work and kept on writing. I don't necessarily think we should sign a starter, I just think it would be decent insurance in case any of the young guys get hurt or just need to throw fewer pitches. As for the bullpen, I wouldn't be opposed to a minor league signing of course, it's essentially no risk for possible reward, I just don't feel like the team will go for it seeing as how they already have some bullpen decisions to make. I did write the Hech article, if only Joe Frisaro believed in...you know, actual statistics.
February 26, 201411 yr I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the run down of who's available and the latest updates about them. It's tough to keep up with that. You can keep posting your links here. I don't mind, personally.
February 26, 201411 yr When talking about the players Marlins connections the writer should have mentioned Andres Torres as a former Marlins draft pick (23rd rd 1997)
