Yea, I think a QO is the best thing we could do. Having him back on a one year deal won't be bad. I don't think anyone will sign him long-term and give up the pick for it. If they do, better for us. It's a win-win, because quite frankly we aren't gonna get shit for him at the deadline.

Yeah, QO is probably the most responsible thing to do as a franchise, unless a team coughs up a real prospect.

What the hell is our staff going to be next year without Haren/Latos?

Just to be clear... there is a very very tiny chance Latos is kept past July 31.  Marlins are trying HARD to trade him

I know. I was just saying the QO is the smart thing to do. They're going to get a shit return at best for Latos. It'll be a salary clear.

Giving Latos a long-term deal would be one of the worst contracts in the game.  1-2 year deal absolutely.  3 and I start to get worried.  More is criminal.

and why is that?  The guys track record speaks for itself.  Unless there has something to do with the qualifying offer or he wants to r establish his value on a one year deal I see no reason he shouldn't be able to get a long term deal

Haren for Kike and Barnes (backup catcher)

(Not a rumor at all, I'm just throwing shit out there)

Anything on TK or shrek? couple weeks ago they were for sure goner, is that still the case?

Gotta imagine Bos may hop in to take a pitcher or 2.

Seriously what is our SP going to be like w/o latos & haren? Urena/Nicolina/Cosart are all pretty shitty options

im pretty sure Salad is gone too..

complete revamp of the rotation

I think urena has good potential.  It's just that we have all of these guys that don't strike anyone out.  That's why I'm in favor of giving Latos a long term deal.  Him paired with Jose is a great complement to our other contact pitchers

Saw something couple days ago on Twitter, i think Slater's account; each team in the marlins organization is in last place or close to. I thought that was something only the marlins could accomplish .

Id be good with getting rid of Morse, Dunn, Cishek, Haren, Koehler at the deadline.  Keep LAtos long term

Go with a rotation of Jose, Latos, Urena, Nicolino, filler for the rest of the year.

Willing to bet if the team was good they would be willing to let him continue to be a prick in the clubhouse or whatever he does wrong.  This seems to be a trend that guys just seem to not like playing here.

They ain't keeping Latos. HA should be back soon, but yeah going with that rotation is fine at this point.

The Marlins are NOT shopping Big Salad.  They would only trade him if another team overpays.

They have no choice but to keep salad if they're trading latos/haren. Not to mention TK has the prefect blend of low k high bb that the FO likes.

that's surprising.

so next year could be: Ferny, Hendy, TK?, Cosart, Urena/Phelps/some random carcass..

After Ferny and Hendo its a crapshoot.
