too many ks not enough walks brah

Exactly. And plus, his velocity isn't declining and stats show that he CAN continue his success. Doesn't sound like a Marlin target at all.

At this point, any Cishek trade will be a salary dump. We'll trade him for a 28 year old Single A reliever who tops out at 89 mph and walks more batters than he strikes out. The acquiring team will take on all of Cishek's salary, and the Marlins will consider the trade a win. They may even throw in Capps or Ramos for an extra $5 million or so.

I'm not against trading Cishek but it's a bit concerning how low his value is compared to if we had traded him pretty much anytime before this season. We're gonna get a pretty disappointing return.

Both are being traded

They need to trade Haren, Latos, Koehler, Ramos, Cishek, Prado, Dunn, Baker, and Morse if possible.

Net a really good young play now SP and 3B for next year, and all excess should be more AA pitching depth.

Use all the money saved on a # 2 SP in free agency next year. The rest of the team is pretty much already filled out besides the bench.

They need to cash out when Ramos and Koehler will never be more valuable, and ditch payroll with Haren, Latos, Prado, Cishek, Dunn,  Baker, and Morse (if possible) to get a real SP next year. This is imperative with Alvarez a complete unknown.

Absolutely.

Which is why they need to move Ramos and Koehler immediately. Never will be more valuable and the team has greater needs.

Thus far they've turned down all requests for Ramos.  Haren, Latos are going to go barring something unforeseen.  Cishek is likely to go.  Morse they've love to dump but nobody has come calling.  Prado they prefer to keep.  Zero interest in Dunn yet.  Koehler they've said no thus far to teams.  Baker could be moved but his injury derailed some talks.

Do you know if anything substantial has been offered for Ramos?

They don't want to move him and they'll only do it if the other team overpays and apparently the offers they've gotten haven't even been close to what they'd want.

Olney reporting Miami open to trading Ozuna... wow..

Only if they are blown away.  they are "open" to any player outside of Jose, Dee, G, Yeli and Realmuto.  Saying they are "open" is just another way of saying that they won't hang the phone up if his name is mentioned.

I think if they do move him, he could net us a no. 2/3 type starter. Hendo is no longer dependable. you hearing if marlins exec beginning to worry about Hendo long-term?

I really don't see them moving him this year. Next year? Yeah, maybe.

I definitely agree with everything you are saying. I just don't see them moving Prado right now. Dunn should definitely be moved, I really didnt understand their logic in giving him a 2 year deal this offseason. Conley could pick up where Dunn left off.

I am guessing the reason they don't want to move Koehler is because they see him as fixture for the rotation next year? Unless he is batting it out like he always does in Spring Training again.

Do you let Bour hold down First Base next year and offer a platoon with someone comparable to that of Baker?

Also if Alvarez does need to have shoulder surgery whats the timetable on a return?

I reported over a month ago that internally they felt season ending surgery was coming.  You know that since we're friends on facebook.  That remains their thought and now its finally closer to becoming public.

They do worry about his long term status.

should have just fucking done the surgery then instead of fucking around with things.

not that it matters, alvarez is damaged goods now anyway (and probably always was)

I'm fine with Prado. There are really no good options in FA next year to get a 3B. Much more worried about 1B and CF. Yelich and Realmuto have really improved, too bad it happened right around the time Stanton got hurt. Maybe they felt less pressure to perform now that we had no expectations?

And as much as its 'fun' or nice to have Suzuki on the team we should really try getting a 4th OF with pop. If there's one thing that's become clear is that this team needs more power. I don't understand playing McGehee almost everyday at 3rd... So pointless.

And Hendo should've had surgery weeks if not months ago
