Greinke to D-Backs

Featured Replies

So grienke goes to a crap team. Its all about the $$$$ right?

Giving a 32 year old six years and that much money can't possibly go wrong. There's no way he already played his peak years in LA and the D-Backs will grow to resent that contract...

Sources: Greinke deal is six years, $206M. Deferrals expected.

Again: Greinke deal is six years, $206M with deferrals, per sources. Deferrals will lower present-day value of contract.

Source: Net present value of Greinke deal with #DBacks, even with deferrals, is nearly $200M. No opt-out clause, as @jcrasnick said.

Greinke average annual value of $34.42M shatters previous record of $31M shared by Price and Miguel Cabrera.

what the hell

I didn't see that coming, I was sure he will be a Giants. where did the Dbags grew a pair to do this deal? they're not ready to compete, Greinke will earn the first two years of the contract maybe pushing it to three , the rest will be a big easy pay.

they just got 1.5 billion from new TV deal,so where's our new TV deal money???

We are still negotiating the new deal, right now our deal is shit.

reported our current deal was only 13 million per year, what a garbage !

Seems like a bad signing to me, but I guess teams that have that TV money can absorb more than in the old days.

Too bad the Marlins/Loria fucked up their TV contract.

Giants do have a bad TV deal themselves, they TV contract is up in 2018 I think, from Comcast and they might switch to Fox
