May 12, 20179 yr He does have an opt out after 2020, let's hope he takes it ... 0 chance at this point. Even if he does explode it may not happen as it appears contracts arent that out of control anymore (for now). [Harper will get a massive deal, however, though he is much better than Stanton]

They also have Dustin Fowler who should be a #4 outfielder at worse. They have no need or desire to trade for a Giancarlo Stanton AND pay him on top of it.

Stantons contract isnt so bad if he can hit 30-40 hrs a year for a long time (i believe injuries will catch him sooner than later). 25-30 million a year for his power isnt extraordinarily expensive. 20 million a year is now the starting point standard for any all-star caliber player contract and its inly going to go up.

Again, Why would the Yankees want to not only pay him that contract but also give up players to acquire him when they have a) better players b) Bryce Harper (a far better player) hitting the market soon
