December 15, 200322 yr Looks like we lost Jason Grilli to the White Sox. Also, former Marlin Andy Fox was selected by the Expos. It doesn't look like we made any selections, though. Selections
December 15, 200322 yr didnt andy sign with the Rangers? Minor League deal. I guess he wasn't on the 40-man roster.
December 15, 200322 yr Can someone explain to me how the Rule V draft works? This article in mlb.com explains it a little. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb
December 15, 200322 yr hmm.. so its teams can sign players from other teams minor league system if there not on the 40-man roster? But there has to be sometype of exception right.
December 15, 200322 yr Do any of you guys know when the minor league phase of the Rule V Draft is going to be conducted. We got Frank Gracesqui in the minor league phase one of the last times out.

December 15, 200322 yr At least we addressed the SS situation... http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/news/...minordraft.html I really like how active the Fish were in the minor league portion of the draft. I belive it is a direct reflection of the excellent prepapration made by an oustanding scouting department. Kudos to Fred F, Dan Jennings and the rest. :thumbup

December 15, 200322 yr According to floridamarlins.com, we also drafted IF Mike Krga from Tampa Bay. The story says that he gave up baseball for a while to play basketball, but returned to T.B. and is considered a power prospect.
December 15, 200322 yr Bass has got some solid offensive numbers for a SS. A little pop, makes you think Kurt Abbot... Krga has really no stats to speak of, at least that I could find on MILB.com. He was 2 for 13 in 7GP, 3K, 2BB. No extra base hits... If we lost Grilli, that is bad in my opinion. I would have liked to see him get a chance for the pen in ST this year...
