el_gmac
Yeah, I never understood the mystery. If he was leaving why not not just say it and give a reason? because it's not easy to admit he was a truly Mutts fan
TaiwanMarlins
I know in a rebuilding team the good prospects would be never enough, but I also think we already traded away enough good veterans and should beginning to lock up some future core players, right !? Rydawg
I know in a rebuilding team the good prospects would be never enough, but I also think we already traded away enough good veterans and should beginning to lock up some future core players, right !? Yes, locking up young controllable players is important but it's too early for that. We have to make sure we lock up the correct players and not make a mistake. For instance, we need to make sure that Anderson is the real deal and not just another Chris Coughlin type. We have so many young players that we need to take some time and evaluate them properly. That obviously doesn't apply to JT Realmuto. I don't think he will sign an extension but they should at least try. Also, we need to lock down more revenue sources like a stadium deal and a new TV contract so that they can put together a long term budget. Just be patient. The long term deals will come. That is assuming of course that Jeter is who he says he is because, you know, #FuckJeter. Lol

Not so much because of questions about his ability, but more but more because it's not even close to being necessary yet. There's rookie contracts & club-controlled years for a reason. In regards to Coghlan, I was under the opinion that he was solid until he blew out his knee. He never was the same afterward. Granted, it happened really early in his career, so it could have been a natural fall off, but it happened over really unfortunate time for him. Yes but if you do a rebuild right you give yourself enough time to evaluate the core players before locking them up so there isn't a need to lock the up yet. With Realmuto he's been here long enough that we could lock him up but with guys like Anderson and Brinson we literally have years to evaluate them better before we need to lock them up. It's a great thing really.
