December 30, 200322 yr how does Leak win the heisman and Zook loses his job? since when do players on losing teams or non-contenders win the heisman. if Florida underachives next year ZOOK should be canned..... what i meant to say... is that i think leak should win the Heisman next year... cuz he is the best playa in the game..... if he doesnt that would only mean the team underachived
December 30, 200322 yr does anyone think Nebraska just found a new coach? :whistle or is he gonna try to get back to the south He would not be successful in Nebraska. That would be very weird though. Having my favorite football team coached by the coach I dislike most.
December 30, 200322 yr I'm friends with one of Leak's friends. He was an offensive lineman for Leak at Independence...same year as him too. Good guy. He's a lineman for Furman now. It's pretty cool. I'm friends with people who are friends with the top 2 QBs at UF from 2003 season.
December 30, 200322 yr Spurrier to Miami? Let's wait and see... wanny signed a 2 year extension You've got to be s***ting me. Well, we need a QB. If Wanny does not improve over both Jay and Brian and lets his personal fixation with Fiedler go, we should be OK. If not, I hate Wayne even freakin' more.
December 30, 200322 yr Maybe Spurrier can go to LSU? If Saban goes to the NFL And Tyrone Moss will win next seasons Heisman...

Wannstedt staying, but giving up his personnel power BY ARMANDO SALGUERO asalguero@herald.com GO FOR TWO: Dave Wannstedt, who received a two-year extension on his contract, said, 'It's sending a message from a confidence standpoint - not just to the fans, but as importantly to our players.' WALTER MICHOT/HERALD STAFF Dave Wannstedt reported for work before sunrise Monday, knowing his days as the Dolphins' chief talent evaluator were over but unsure if his coaching tenure would be extended or also snuffed out by team owner Wayne Huizenga. Before entering the 8 a.m. meeting with Huizenga, Wannstedt told friends he would not coach beyond this season if he did not get a contract extension. It never came to that. Wannstedt and Huizenga agreed to a two-year contract extension guaranteeing the coach's income through the 2006 season but not necessarily the coach's tenure because Huizenga can make a change whenever he wants. The Dolphins are expected to sign the completed deal within days. 'It's sending a message from a confidence standpoint -- not just to the fans, but as importantly to our players, that says, `Hey, this is the guy that's going to be coaching you,' and I'm going to finish up my career here,'' Wannstedt said. But the Dolphins will hire a person to oversee personnel acquisition decisions ''as quickly as we can,'' team president Eddie Jones said. Jones has already contacted Ron Wolf, one of the NFL's most respected names, to fill that post and become the team's president and Wannstedt's boss as well. Wolf, the former Green Bay general manager and vice president, was contacted Monday afternoon and heads a list that Jones said included half a dozen candidates. Wolf is the field's only proven star based on his extensive experience and track record, but must be convinced to come out of retirement to lead the Dolphins. ''They want me to think about it,'' said the 65-year-old Wolf. ``I have to decide if I want to do this again, if I want to go forward right now. I have to think this through very seriously.'' Wolf expects to tell the Dolphins if he's interested in the job soon after New Year's Day. Most of the other candidates the Dolphins have initially identified for the job -- including current club personnel man Rick Spielman, who was interviewed Monday -- would not be considered Wannstedt's direct superior if hired, according to a team source. and its not wanny's choice on who to sign anymore http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/7595695.htm

December 30, 200322 yr Author Maybe Spurrier can go to LSU? If Saban goes to the NFL And Tyrone Moss will win next seasons Heisman... That would kill Gator fans to see him in the SEC.
December 30, 200322 yr Author News Head coach Steve Spurrier has denied reports alleging that he resigned on Tuesday, the Washington Post reported. "I have not resigned," Spurrier said. "I've got a representative looking into some issues, but I have not resigned. If they say that I have, that is not true. I'm not sure it is heading in that direction right now. We are seeing where it goes but I have not resigned." Reportedly with the go-ahead from Spurrier's agent, Jimmy Sexton, the Redskins issued a news release earlier on Tuesday. In the release, owner Daniel Snyder stated, "I have accepted Steve's resignation with much regret but respect his decision." Views Spurrier and Snyder haven't been on the same page for two years, so why start now? We'll continue to follow this story as hopefully clears up. wow sure
December 30, 200322 yr i see steve going to a school that is in the south, not in the sec also i see him going to a school where he can build a succesful program like he did at duke and florida, so throw out nebraska and lsu one underdeveloped program he might take over (according to peter king) is basketball powerhouse north carolina wait and see....
December 30, 200322 yr Spurrier is not coming to Nebraska. His wife is very unhappy living in the DC Area and would like to move back to the South. Also Nebraska is very close to hiring Bo Pelini right now.
December 30, 200322 yr I also believe there is a clause in Spurrier's contract that if he resigns he cannot coach in the NFL or College the following year. Snyder could be a nice guy and let him coach next year but I doubt he will.

Snyder could be a nice guy and let him coach next year but I doubt he will. i think the catch is if he wants to coach another nfl team in the next 3 yrs the team has to work it out with the skins (draft picks, players, etc) i dont think theres any catch if he goes back to the college game
December 30, 200322 yr NOOOO!!! :banghead Damn it I was hoping Spurrier had success in the NFL. Well I hope he finds success somewhere else again.
