Marlins have been playing well. Phillies have been playing have taken 9 in a row. How excited are we for 3 in Philly?

Could be a matter of unstoppable force meets immovable object on Monday. Their offense has been tops in MLB in runs per game in June. Sandy starts for the Marlins with only 3 ER in his last 6 starts (48.0 IP).

Is their run even real. After salvaging a game vs the Giants they swept the Angels (who everyone is beating), swept the Brewers (who are getting blown up by the Nats) and have now taken 2 vs the D-Backs who are not exactly a great team.

9 in a row is impressive against anyone, but is it more because they are facing struggling teams?

Just something I noticed and I don't know if it includes today. Marlins have really done well with RISP in June.

Team- Avg RISP (MLB Rank)
Marlins- .344 (1st)

Phillie opponents during winning streak:
Giants- .302 (9th)
Angels- .191 (27th)
Brewers- .196 (24th)
D-Backs- .153 (29th)

Keep in mind they lost 2 of 3 to the Giants before starting the winning streak.

Also the Phillies themselves are 5th with a .314 Avg with RISP.

Fair question but I see it as they're winning the games they need to win. Feels like when the Marlins face struggling teams outside of the Nats the Marlins find a way to lose. So this makes the Phillies dangerous right now.

Split with Giants. You silly banana.

I was talking about the Phillies. We split with the Giants after they lost 2 of 3 to the Giants.

Prior to winning 9 in a row, they lost 12 of 16 against the Dodgers, Padres, Braves, Mets, and Giants. Tough schedule but it does hammer in the point that they are playing well vs struggling teams rather than just beating average or better teams.

You silly banana. Being confusing.

Hope Phillies starting their losing streak that always following the winning streak.

Hope we continue playing great against them.

Let them get to 10 and then we sweep em. Yeah. That'll work.
