Coaching Staff Announcements

Cool but there's no way he's their first base and outfield coach, I'm positive the Marlins have had several of those before him.

You’re in midseason form

But the Marlins are already sunk by midseason...

Ohhhhhh. I get it

Flashy names cost more

Hell, turning on the lights to see who you are hiring costs money.

Not that it matters but these are like the most seemingly random no name hires. No flashy headlines with these hires.

Except for Jay and Barajas, I've never heard of any of them.

Guess they couldn't afford anyone noteworthy after keeping Mel lol.

I know some teams have them now, but WTF is a "quality assurance" coach?

I just asked that on Twitter. 😅

Confused also.

I get it but to be fair this isn't about money, Skip said he was gonna bring in coaches he knows and is familiar with and who have some of the experience he doesn't have so the actual story here is that these are buddies of Schumaker.

Yea this is becoming more popular but seems like every single team has a stupid name for the role. Didn't Ed Lucas have a spot like this for the Marlins a few years back? I remember when replay became a thing the guy hired to watch the replays in game was considered a coach (because of his duties before games) but the names of this coaching spot were all dumb.

Edit: Yeah Ed Lucas followed Pat Shine as the "administrative coach" for the Marlins. How did they come up with that title? The term administrative has zero to do with being a coach, especially as the replay guy.

It was a joke.  As long as the team does well, they could hire anyone lol.

I know you were joking. Just wanted to make the point about Skip bringing in his buddies.
