What do you think is the best playoffs?

Featured Replies

with all the talk about an NCAA FB playoff, i was thinking which is the best playoff in sports

my choice: NCAA BBall

reason: no other event takes over sports quite like March Madness

NFL Playoffs bar none.

Not even close.

College Football has become a joke and mockery which I refuse to support.

if its pro sports then it is clearly the NHL playoffs

but overall March Madness rules all

NFL playoffs are meh..... same with NBA...... MLB is good

NHL.

I love the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There's nothing like 'em in terms of sheer intensity. I used to watch the playoffs even when I never watched the regular season.

They're all good though. I mean, who doesn't like the playoffs?

March Madness is above and beyond more fun to watch than any other sports' playoffs.

After that, I'd probably go with NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, and then the pathetic college football.

NHL

The Nba was my favorite but now is not that good because the west has all the dominant players and the East has none .....I miss the bad boyz era and Jordan's

NCAA basketball is the best by far.

Then it would be MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL

How could you rate NBA in front of NHL...

NBA is horrible as shown by last years championship (No offense Das). There are some good games I do agree with that but the NHL night in and night out is a battle. Last years was the best in a few years and that should've got more viewers than it had. That was one hell of a playoffs last year...

MLB is always thrilling and this year was the most thrilling of the Wild Card era. NFL is always entertaining...

What about T-Mac Lebron Vince Carter AI and Baron Davis? They are good but not good enough to lead a team to a title.

NBA, no doubt.

Sue me.

I don't care if the West is 4845733 times better than the East, it's still so much fun for me personally to watch. But that's me, I mean I love watching basketball more than anything.

College Basketball is alright but I was never that much into College Sports.

NHL: I don't watch. NFL: is pretty good. NCAAF: depends on teams

MLB: awesome too.

I don't get the NHL playoffs. It's almost a different game between the regular season and plyayoffs. anyways its boring.

March Madness. But only if you include the conference tournaments too.

You want boring, go watch Mike Weir win the Pebble Beach Skins tournament...

NBA since games are decided in the last minute, but can be entertaining if it is like a Heats-Knicks playoffs of the 90's. After that, I have lost any interest in the NBA...

March Madness if fun to watch...

For me, its CBB, NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA (yes, NHL ahead of NBA) bc every sports fan in america at one point in march puts everything on hold and tries to figure out how far Gonzaga will go. CBBall, no doubt

NFL follows bc no low quality teams make it: only the best

October showed why MLB is right up there

i put NHL over NBA for two reasons: bc they play at a higher level than they do in the reg season, and bc you dont know which conference will take the cup

NHL isn't boring...

It is if you watch it regularly during the regular season, then tune into a playoff game when they refuse to call fouls and anything against the offense. It was as if the TV networks told them to make the game more fan friendly.

College Basketball. Nothing, NOTHING, compares to the attitude of March Madness. The only thing that could ever come close is college football, but even then it won't be close because b-ball is conference tournaments, and then you have 64 teams in a lose and go home situation. It does not get any better. That month has to be the second funnest sports month, besides October.

For the pros, I'm going to have to say the NHL and MLB are about even. The NHL is up by a hair, only because there are more games to watch and more teams that have a chance (don't take this a reason for baseball's playoffs to expand, they are beyond perfect at 4 teams each League). But honestly, no stage matches the stage that baseball puts out for 7 games in The Show of Shows, the World Series. You can make an arguement for baseball being the biggest show on Earth, but that is all pressure in one game. Baseball you get that for at least four. And if you have a Series go 6 or 7 (almost all the time), it is a treat to everyone in the country, not just baseball fans. Super Bowls can be great games, but think of all the awesome games the World Series has given us. We got 2 classics, 3 more awesome games, and 1 game that was awesome until the 8th inning.

The NFL takes third because of the do or die part of it. But really, it just isn't all it is cracked up to be. Parity is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but there aren't any real playoff staples. October is defined by the Yankees, and the futility of the Braves and Red Sox. March Madness is known for cinderellas, UNC, Kentucky, and others of the powerhouses. NHL has the Red Wings, the Avalanche, and the Devils. Can any team win in any of those three playoff systems I mentioned? Yes. But is there tradition to go with it? Yes. It is an awesome mix.

NBA has to go last for me, right now. It just isn't what it used to be. There is no more Knicks-Heat. The Bulls are gone. The West makes for some great games, but are you really going to sit here and say that the NBA playoffs are that good when the Eastern Conference is so dilluted it is disgusting? The East is basically the AAA of the NBA, and as long as talent continues to live in the West the playoffs will be good up until the NBA Finals.

And the NFL, Phlub, will continue to not sniff the top until at least 75% of the games are great games. Baseball has awesome games in every series, plus only 8 teams make it so top talent is on display everytime. There are no real destructions even when teams are swept, because most of the time sweeps and games where the other team only wins 1 game come down to bad breaks on the losing side and just a little bit better performance by the victors, not because they are completely outclassed. As long as teams get completely outclassed in the playoffs like they do in the NFL, it cannot come close to the top.

I chose NFL by accident...

Even though NFL Playoffs are great, nothing beats March Madness

Baseball. This year showed exactly why.

this year was really a fluke

every year march brings the drama

i gotta go with the NBA.

every team has a respectable chance of making it to the playoffs, and the real regular season battle is for seeding (much like college basketball, but with more talent).

i hate hockey so i wouldnt dare vote for the NHL, but i guess it deserves honorable mention since the sport is so off the radar until playoffs time, when it manages to get national broadcast airtime on fox. this is more a product of the fact that the league is so unpopular that it can't get national broadcast airtime during the regular season (save for those sparkling all star games), so everyone is amazed to see hockey on their TV sets when they are flipping the channels at some time in april.

NBA has lasting year round appeal (though admittedly less than before) and its playoffs are the bomb... definitely my vote.
