Anyone here have an idea how laughably low the payroll will now be come the start of next season? Anyone have a projection on yhat? I mean we all know Bruce ain't gonna spend on anything of note in the offseason because "rebuild".

I'm borrowing some of @MarlinsLou's numbers.  I may have them wrong, as there are so many it's hard to decipher a "actual" vs. theoretical.

 

He has a $58M estimate at the moment

~$46M (he says half of this is Sandy/Luzardo)

$12M for Garcia

the fact that half of that is two players tells you 100% he'll want them gone because "we can't have all that money tied up in just two players when the rest of the team makes league minimum"

I honestly just glance through his posts because there's so much repeat and blanks....and more importantly pie in the sky scenarios that won't happen (mainly signing people).

I’ll meet you in the middle at top 10 😸

The starting rotation should be stacked in 2025, so much so that they can add some starters into the bullpen (Weathers, Cabrera, Sixto etc). This should free up some capital on a premier bat this offseason.  
Building around Burger and Edwards plus some of those power bats we acquired in trades can put us back in contention.   Atlas, it won’t happen (spending  that’s why they hired Benatrick.

Relievers they'll just find off the street. Almost literally.

Do you think any of our pitchers besides Luzardo, Alcantara & Meyers can net a bat worth getting?   I can see Cabrera as a possibility or one of our top pitching prospects but I’d like to see a trade that really improves the lineup, kinda like Lopez for Arraez.

We say this every single year and they also never get a vet starter so we’ll have the same inning issues yet again 

True, but I don’t like adding a vet inning eater when you can just find a scrub or tax the bullpen.  We need a cleanup bat, I’d also like a catcher while I’m at it.    J. Sanchez you can pack your bags buddy boy reinforcements are on the way.

Since a scrub or tax the bullpen works out...
