Well, that's just stupid. He's pitching great. Let him pitch. They're going to burn out the pen at this rate.

Or they could overuse all the starters, have them pitch way more innings than they ever had and then watch every one of them get injured and miss significant time.

It's a long season, analytics don't support third time through the lineup, and this is the longest Gillispie has ever pitched in his career. You have to look at the big picture.

The Mets drowned in Lake Bachar.

With Bellozo down right now,, we have a 9 pitcher bullpen with 2 more guys (Roa and Pilar) we can shuttle up and down.

I think worrying about the bullpen being overused is premature right now.

The fact of the matter is that Gilliespie is probably not long for this rotation, regardless. Between pitchers returning from the IL or prospect promotions, he's just a place holder. He's was pitching great today, however. Why not capitalize on the momentum he has and let him pitch?

Also, fuck analytics. They've ruined the sport. LOL

Agree that Gillispie is a placeholder. Hoping he can be a useful bullpen arm in the long-term.

Also agree on analytics. They have ruined every sport to be honest. But we have to embrace them and Bendix knows them better than anyone.

Bride got hosed on strike 3. Hope he can start hitting soon.

WTF was that from Minter?

Another multihit day for Otto Lopez. He will eventually cool off with the extra base hits, but speed as they say, does not slump.

Mazur making his debut for JAX today. Red Sox have Lucas Giolito pitching. Worcester has a very good lineup too (Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, some vets). Shrimp going with pretty much the same lineup again.

I know Alonso hit the HR by why was Faucher even facing Soto? Isn’t this supposed to be the analytics team

Veneziano had already pitched to Soto in the 6th. He's our only lefty.
