Breads at Marlins 12:40

I don't know what to make of Connor Norby's Savant page.

We all know that he is a crappy fielder. Pretty decent runner. He has a low bat speed which explains the low hard hit rate, but his barrel rate is pretty good. If you had to choose barrel rate or hard hit rate, you should always choose barrel rate because that is actually more predictive to success. I was frankly shocked at the chase and K%. Probably because the whiff rate was still mediocre. He has done a good job with the BB%.

Overall with the homer he hit last night the numbers are no longer terrible and his peripherals tell me that they will continue to improve. He has had some bad babip luck on fastballs, so that is probably where he will improve on going forward. Not a star unless proven otherwise, but I can see why they want him to get everyday reps.

of course we don't need Dane Myers, he rob Marsee's extra base hit and almost rob Edwards' extra base hit in the same inning and we all not surprised to see him do that.

I wouldn't put too much stock into Savant just yet. Not saying Norby will or wont do anything, but it takes about 1.5 to 2 months for Savant to normalize league wide IIRC.

Griff is hurt. Hopefully it is not too bad.

Looks likes a hamstring issue. Hopefully it's not the knee.

And, it's the knee. Hopefully its just a bruise or something minor.

WTF is up with the left side our infield. They graded out as good defenders last year from what I recall.

Hopefully he gets to play. Also, that doesn't bode well for Conine's status. He must be going on the IL. He was off to another good start. This is very unfortunate. Luckily, Stowers should be back very soon.

Marlins are 5-2 vs RHP starters and 3-3 vs LHP starters. If you adjusted those win rates to a 30% LHP, which is around the league rate, you would have a .650 win%. Over 162 games that would be about 105 wins.

Strange what happens when you start your best players

It could have been 3-1 even using lesser players on Tuesday. I think we sweep if not for the forced platoons.
