Article"24 Mill for Pudge still on table...

But if he comes back at the right price...then all sins are forgiven.

ahhh. . . i'll boo him for a few wasted games and for being so stupid and greedy but i'd love to have him back

for the most part, Pudge was liked a lot. It's not that we hate him and want him gone. Of course he would be great in any lineup. But at what price? The Pudge supporters seem to lose sight of why Pudge isn't getting 10 mil from the Marlins. To pay Pudge 10 mil means the team couldn't afford their starters. To lock up Pudge for four years at 10 mil a season means Beckett wouldn't be a Marlin in a year or two. The point is Pudge isn't worth what he is asking. At least to teh Marlins he isn't. If he signs with the Tigers, then he would have to prove hhis worth to that organization. It is shaping up as a completely lousy choice for spending money. Then again, the Tigers are desperate and Pudge is desperate to get his 40 mil. So the two sides deserve each other.

I really don't like how all the articles say that Pudge had "a great season", he started to play in mid-august, and his play got progressively better all the way through the NLCS, but to say a man played a great season, he has to have had a WHOLE good season, not just 1/3 plus the playoffs.

Josh beckett was untouchable in the playoffs, but you wouldnt say he had a great season, would you?

he started to play in mid-august, and his play got progressively better all the way through the NLCS,

Pudge really started heating up in June. His batting avg. was above .300 at the ASG which is impressive considered he was terrible 'til then.

:angry I dont really understand why you guys hate Ivan Rodz somuch. He really help this team alot. Man son un chorros de malagradecidos. Nobody hates Pudge...and yes I am grateful for his contributions. What I don't like is the greed he portrayed. The Marlins gave him a very fair offer, given the market conditions.....and he snubbed his nose at it.....and in not a very graceful way. That is where I have my problem.

But if he comes back at the right price...then all sins are forgiven. ;) ;) Thanks PB for being so considerate, but everyone seems to forget that because of him hitting that last inning, the Marlins would have never gone to the World Series. He is a goodball player, and he really loves the game, and if he gets paid for it, well, he is a 10 time Gold Glove winner, he really knows what he is doing, he has the experience and he knows how to read the pitchers and the players.

If he comes back, I hope they make him an offer, really good one. The team needs him. Redmond is good, Castro, has been playing here in PR, and really not that good, and if he gets out the legal jam he is into, then maybe he can concentrate better and play, but until then, we can only wait and see.

So, if the real " Marlin Fans" hates him, son todos unos malagradecidos...

you have to consider the source on this story. It's Berardino, the one reporter who has burned bridges in the organization and his track record for being wrong is endless: Among the off season reports Berardino whiffed on: Castillo leaning toward Cubs, Vlad to sign with Marlins, Now Pudge to return. Dating back to last season: Lowell would be traded. Penny has major shoulder trouble.

So, if the real " Marlin Fans" hates him, son todos unos malagradecidos...

what the hell does that mean?

What are you talking about?? What does this have to do with anything? I know Fudge is a great player, a HOFer but I hate the person, not the player.

You know what Pudge not Fudge is a great player I would take him anytime and you know what without him I don't think we would have been the Champs...ok maybe.....Anyway yes he is greedy and a trader but guys c'mon give this guy a break alright!

i got to respect the man's decision

who wouldn't want to live his fans, his city, his family and his champs to play for Detroit??? What would your opinion be of him if he turned down that 4/ $40 million to come back to the marlins?

I'd think he show some intelligence in turning down Detroit's offer, but I'd think he is a moron if he couldn't see the good in signing with FLA in December. And I'll be mad about not having that greedy clown for a month.

Marlin15, keep believing the fairytail. Keep believing Pudge has a chance to return. Know this, my gullible new friend, this entirely fabricated Marlins scenario is playing into Scott Boras hands to try to scare the Tigers into either increasing their offer or making terms of the contract more attractive. Congratulations, your gullbility is being used as a bargaining chip for the agent, because there are people and radio reports out of Detroit declaring the Marlins are in the hunt for Pudge. Funny how the Marlins could be "in the hunt" for Pudge when they can't negotiate until May 1. Then again, don't let facts sway your simple opinions. You assimiliate well in society because you are easily manipulated and follow the leader nicely.

For all the gullible believers in Berardino's nonsense, his OWN paper a day after his fabricated story, writes that bringing Pudge back is "remote."

Check out Friday's Sun Sentinel. Juan Rodriguez writes:

"The Marlins would only be interested if the facilitating team signed Rodriguez for a reasonable price. Don't look for the Marlins to pursue Rodriguez if he signs for $40 million."

I'm laughing so hard at all of you who were dooped by Berardino.

Did I ever say I thought Pudge would come back? Did I?

What I have been talking about is what happens if he comes back, and you have been talking about that too.

trust me, no one on this board as far as I know was in favor of giving him anything close to 4 years, 40 million. there's no need to try & convince everyone why he's not worth that amount. we agree.

I'd be surprised if I found out pudge's mommita would agree with 4/40.
