February 10, 200422 yr I like PPS but it should be used for dolphin games. Marlins can't be there. Then where should they be? IN a new stadium And if they cant get a new stadium? Then PPS. I hope they get a new stadium but if they can't then it's PPS or they are out.
February 11, 200422 yr I definately read something into Sampson saying "If I were a fan I would bet on the team being in sofla for a long time to come".... (or whatever it was he said). Whether it's the PPS solution Marlins2003 came up with though I'm not so sure (though I think it's a pretty good option & I hope they have considered this). At this point with the deadline approaching so soon, I think they must have something serious in the works.

The tone that Samson had when he addressed the stadium questions during the Q&A during fanfest made it seem like they had a feeling of they have more done than they have left to do, and he also said something in one of the papers, the Post I believe, to the extent of " we're meeting daily and things are moving well." I think that there would be a whole different tone if negotiations weren't going well...

Sampson said they were not planning for failure....no contingency plans...the March 15 date is firm. So we all sit on pins and needles as we approach the deadline.
February 11, 200422 yr They almost HAVE to be really close to deciding on someting at this point. We are barely over a month away from this deadline now. If nothing is in the works now, there's no chance of whipping up something together in just over 30 days.
February 11, 200422 yr At the Q&A Samson made it clear the Marlins are looking at a baseball ONLY stadium. Not a football/baseball stadium. Samson talked about Houston and Arizona and those places having roofs and baseball only facilities. Stuff is in the works. Who knows what or where? Buying Pro Player from Huizenga seems very far fetched and not very practical. Of course Samson would be upbeat at fanfest. He isn't going to tell a large crowd there that bought 16,000 tickets that the team is looking to move. Let March 15 come and then find out the details. All this speculation is a waste of braincells. Buying Pro Player is a bigger long shot than dealing with Don King. :hat The champ.
