we are the only dumbass country to ever enter into nuclear warfare. meh i saw no problem with dropping atomicbombs on Japan in WW2. They should have done the same to Germany.

the nuclear bomb, existing today, is the one weapon that could end this world.

are you even aware of all the drawbacks of that piece of crap?

do you even know how many US Citizens suffered because of that thing?

do you even know how many US Citizens suffered because of that thing? yes i know but in WW2 no one else had the capabilities i think. it was good then. i am not for nuclear war now. i understand that it could wipe everybody out but not in the 1940s.

the war was already won by the time those things were dropped.

there was no need for them other than to justify the money wasted to develop them.

still we are the only country that has dropped them and we go around trying to preach why they are bad and how nobody else can have them...but yet you dont see us talking about eliminating our nuclear programs....

you also dont see the government admitting how many people in the West had their lives royally destroyed because of the nuclear weapons testing.

but that 'never occured'

I only wish that the CIA had the power to assassinate dictators.

You're not alone there....

that may be the most ignorant thing i've ever heard. they were dropped to save Japan. the entire country was prepared to fight to the death. the mass belief among Japan was Bushido, and in it, they would rather die than surrender. the only reason the surrender was as peacable as it was is because of a radio broadcast by the Emporer (who effectively ordered the surrender despite having no real power). it was the first time in the history of Japan that the voice of the Emporer had ever been heard (because the prevailing thought was that he was a living god on earth) when he made his radio announcment that Japan was surrendering, he urged the people to not resist the Americans. you ever wonder why after the surrender there was almost no underground resistance? because the Emporer (god of Japan) had spoken.

the only reason why the Emporer wanted the surrender to happen when it did was because of the terrible destructive power of the atomic bomb.

I'd say ignore them....but we've spread ourselves across the world, in this era of globalization.

I wish we had practiced isolationism and just stayed out of other country's business. I know yall probably think I'm a hypocrite because I support Bush....but really, we've spread ourselves out throughout the world that we do have to meddle in others' business. It's a damn shame, but it happens.

P.S. I accidentally clicked Ignore them. Really, I wouldnt IGNORE them, but keep a watchful eye on them, if need be invade and overthrow.

Let China handle them. U.S.A needs to take care of this side of the hemisphere and its own people.

Except they don't. There are much bigger problems laughing at us on the other side of the Caribbean Sea and most of them have been caused due to lack of US involvement or messed up US involvement.

the only reason why the Emporer wanted the surrender to happen when it did was because of the terrible destructive power of the atomic bomb. the USA did not drop the atomic bomb to 'save' Japan.

they did so in order to show the world the new and powerful weapon that the USA has developed and to ensure that the war with Japan would come to an end within a month.

the war was already over in terms of Japan being able to do anything to defeat the Allied Powers, it was simply a matter of time before they had to surrender.

I'd say ignore them....but we've spread ourselves across the world, in this era of globalization.

so you follow the George Washington school of isolationism.....

But yet you support King George......

that is a bit hypocritical....I hope there are numerous other issues of his that you do support.

The Atomic Bomb was dropped to prevent an incredible amount of loss of life on the US side as well as on the Japanese side, because if it weren't for the bombs we were going to send a full on invasion of the country. The war was not "over", it would have been just beginning if not for the bombs.

so instead we drop the atomic bomb....

when we had no clue what might occur when it was dropped and what repercussions the bomb might involve....

the war essentially was over...this just prevented the loss of American life.

The Japanese there at the time were mostly either killed or suffered from the effects of the bomb for the rest of their lives.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were totally destroyed by these two bombs.

Hopefully we have learned our stupid lesson. Still though, only one nation has unleased the power of this 'weapon' That alone should say something.

the war essentially was over...this just prevented the loss of American life.

That is where you are sadly mistaken. The war was not "essentially" over. It wasn't over at all. Just because the European Theater had been wrapped up did it mean that the Pacific Theater was going to come easy. No. The bombs were dropped for the reason that the war wasn't over, it wasn't close to over, and would have lasted at least two more years if we would have headed to full on invasion, which is what the Navy and Army were already on their way to do.

so then its totally justified to drop the bomb?

why else would the government 'hurry' the production of the atomic bomb if the war wasnt beginning to come toward a conclusion.

the dropping of the atomic bomb happened.

It totally ended the war.

It was the most tragic and destructive force ever unleashed on this world and is the only weapon today that can end the world.

And we are the only country that has dropped it and yet we maintain that no other country can have them but us....

isnt this a double standard?

We hurried them into production because we didn't want the possibility of more American Troops dying.

Let's look at the possibilities:

Drop the bomb: Japanese people die.

Invade: American and Japanese people die.

The bomb was rushed because they wanted it finished before the fleet got to their first invasion point, they wanted to be able to end the war without invasion. But I'm sure it would have come off great with the American people if we had an alternative to end the war and save American lives, but instead we chose to invade full on and lose countless soldiers and sailors. Yeah, that would have been wonderful.

Funny how you are advocating the loss of American lives in that situation but are against it today. Different situation, same outcome: American lives at risk. We took opposite stances. In WW2 we used the alternative to save as many American lives as possible. In modern times we risked American lives. Yet you are against both.

It seems to me the only thing you really stand for is to be against whatever the government in power is doing.
