February 23, 200422 yr Well many think wade is the 3rd best rookie but many are now thinking he is either equal or surpassed Carmelo for 2nd best and therefore wade has won the NBA player of the week in the east and is the first rookie this year to take the award which neither lebron nor carmelo has taken. Wade is now the #1 Ranked rookie on the NBA got milk rookie rankings!! And ahead notice to all those haters(Das texan) saying carmelo is better..Wade will skool carmelo anyday.. Link to article
February 23, 200422 yr Author if by above u mean pts per game? then yea he avg 2 more points but that doesnt matter cuz of games wade has missed due to injuries...but if u mean by better overall player i dont think carmelo is still above wade.if u were to ask many nba analysts right now whos better they would tell u its a tie or maybe a slight edge to melo cuz of the ppg avg.Wade in my opinion has more upside but we will see when it comes to showtime in the playoffs who steps up
February 23, 200422 yr if by above u mean pts per game? then yea he avg 2 more points but that doesnt matter cuz of games wade has missed due to injuries... that makes no sense ppg has nothing to do with games played for now im going to go by team's record Melo has turned that franchise around, still waiting on Wade to get this team to .500
February 23, 200422 yr This draft for the NBA has been the best in years in terms of show. I mean they got Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Lebron James entertaining millions of people and bringing the cash in. Plus there are players like Chris Bosh who may turn out to be really entertaining but are overshadowed. My Top 3 Rookies: 1. LeBron James- He is 19, plays a great defensive game, dishes out the ball, scores, scores, and did I mention scores. Plus he is leading a playoff push from the Cavs (THE CAVS!?!) and is a great team player. 2. Dwyane Wade- See above except that he is older and is on the Heat. 3. Carmelo Anthony- Great player but he can be handled as was shown by Caron and Rasual Butler. Otherwise he is a very promising player and should lead the Nugs in the playoffs to at least the second round.

Triple Doubles Points Field Goal Attempts None of which he trails Duncan in. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/kevin_garnett/ There you have it, stats and the links to prove it. Garnett is a better ball player then Tim Duncan. Duncan is still the 3rd or 4th best baller in the NBA. But Garnett is the best in the business. Duncan is a lock Hall of Famer and has won 2 more titles then Garnett has. But as far as the individual stats go, there is little competition between KG and TD as KG scores a "TD" in the stats department.
February 25, 200422 yr too bad stats dont win basketball games. bottom line.... KG has never been out of the first round.
February 25, 200422 yr Does that mean Trent Dilfer is a better QB than Dan Marino was? Question. touche
February 25, 200422 yr Originally posted by Das Texan... too bad stats dont win basketball games. bottom line.... KG has never been out of the first round. Bottom line Das... If your implying that since KG hasn't been out of the 1st round and TD has, well then that could be percieved as saying TD is better because he has made it past Rd. 1. But I find it extremely convienient for you that you didn't mention that Tim Duncan has had players like... David Robinson Shaun Elliot Manu Ginobli Tony Parker To help guide him to his 2 Finals Championships. Who has Garnett had? Stephon Marbury? He was a cancer in Minny and was part of the problem of not getting out of the 1st Round because he was always whining or hogging the ball. Terrell Brandon? Hahaha! Injuries, injuries. Wally Szczerbiak? He'll never be more then an All Star Backup, and an injury prone one at that. He'll be the new Tom Gugliota. Sam Mitchell? Wait! Wait! We have to wait for Grandpa to get his walker! Troy Hudson? Oh he's like our 6th or 7th man now. Who has Duncan had? David Robinson? He's a 1st ballot Hall of Famer, was a huge contributor statistically and emotionally in both title runs. Sean Elliot? Excellent 3 point and perimeter shooter that also provided one of the biggest emotional boosts to his team in sports history after playing after his Kidney Treatment (a true hero none the less). Manu Ginobli? A perfect 2 Guard for Poppy's system in SA who is also worlds better then Troy Hudson and Terrell Brandon are. Tony Parker? 20 point a night type guy in last years title run. Excellent shooting throughout the run, and very good PG ideal for Poppys system. So yeah, now look at what happens when KG finally has a supporting cast like Duncan did and still does when Robinson was there (and now gone). Both players though are the 2 most valuable assets to their team then any other players in the NBA. But this "debate" is about who is a better INDIVIDUAL PLAYER, and the stats do not lie.
February 25, 200422 yr My case has been made in Ross' point. Is Trent Dilfer a better individual QB then Marino? Or how about Doug Williams? Mark Rypien? Were they better then Marino? My point is Das this is a debate of whose better individually as a player. But we all have to realize that this is a debate also between Myself (a WOLVES fan) and Das (a SPURS fan), so we will both naturally argue for our respective ball player because they are both so good and so deserving of all of the accolades and awards they get. And it will be impossible for me to budge Das on his position, like wise as you all know it's almost always impossible to budge me on my position.

Hey phlub, never thought I'd agree with you on anything but I did not even have to make my point, you did it for me. Das has his back against the wall on this argument and is trying to pull the child like, "i know what you are but what am i?" stunt with the 1st round nonsense. Bottom line is, KG is not a selfish player, so that is not why he has not been out of the 1st round, its the lack of talent around him. He makes everyone around him better and is superior to duncan.
