  1. This thread is the most exciting thing about this team right now.
  2. I think this team gave up coke after Jose's death and it's impacting their team chemistry and on field performance. Go back to doing drugs, mkay?
  3. Take a page from the book of Vince?
  4. I doubt anything significant happens. Just another loser season.
  5. Will be back in 5-6 weeks.
  6. squall replied to DTrain's topic in Miami Marlins
Eenie, meenie, miney, moe. That won't sell merch tho.
  7. Not going to give donny baseball credit for this because it's likely him doing something super cray cray to spark the lineup.
  8. You might as well say Loria should just purchase the contracts of every allstar possible because it's just as likely to happen as him blowing up the roster of a team about to be sold.
  9. As your lawyer I regret to say you've just perjured yourself.
  10. Spent all of its money.
  11. I disagree only because the ballpark means baseball in South Florida. From 98 to 02 not only were the teams shit, but the stadium was shit and the long-term security of baseball in Miami was in the air.
  12. He's not going anywhere tbh. He should be replaced by Edwin. He was the best manager this team ever had.
  13. This team can be fixed in 3 moves. Replace Hill. Replace mattingly with Edwin. Replace hitting coaches. Really just bring Edwin back he was amazing.
  14. slap a few hits in the gaps guys. make sure you advance the runner above all else. dont hit it in the air, force a play at the base. pressure the defense with sharply hit ground balls.
  15. ITS NOT HERPES ITS A PIMPLE
  16. Think about baseball in general and what the talk is like in the stands. Even for teams that go to the playoffs and win the world series. Go look at their message boards. People bitch and moan because it's more fun than a circle jerk of praise. Plus we haven't had a ton to really feel amazing about since the ballpark opened.
  17. Hech is like herpes. We can't get rid of him, when he's not at his worst you barely notice him, but when he's being himself he's literally herpes.
  18. This guy has the worst luck!
  19. He was more than an intangibles guy, and I exaggerated a lot, but his defense wasn't good, but he passed the eyeball test. That's what I would like new ownership to avoid.
  20. I don't see it this way. I see it as someone who desperately wanted to win, but lacked the patience and ability to put together a vision to increase the chance of winning. I'd apply that to almost all of Loria's bigger decisions including signings for 2012. The guy flat out loves baseball. He wants and wanted to win. He goes to a ton of games and gets visibly upset at losses. I don't doubt his desire to win at all. I doubt his ability to lead an organization to win.
  21. We're getting way ahead of ourselves but let's speculate because it's fun. I think you said somewhere that Jeter is the poster child for ignoring metrics. Let's hope that he's known all along how overrated he was statistically, and doesn't try to build a team of Jeters. Because broke Bush and intangibles Jeter combine into a slightly darker, sexier version of Loria.
  22. I used to play that game a lot back in college.
