1. Vladimir Guerrero is on this team and there are no problems this year.
2. Yeah I've noticed too. Pierre gets very concentrated and extremely fidgety when he is going to steal. He has to be more deceptive and run on an offspeed pitch or a pitch that will probably hit the ground. 447271 I agree - and I HATE that stupid stance he picked up from Carter. It doesn't allow him to be as fidgety on the bases -- you know, on his toes and stuff, which explains why he's gotten picked off twice already. I can't remember him getting picked off at all last year. Caught stealing, yes, but picked off no. Also, the lead he got yesterday was ridiculously small. He seems to have lost his confidence and aggressiveness on the bases and even at the plate.
3. This is about the third error I see Damion make at first. I believe the last time he started at home a couple of balls went over his head, but their trajectory would have allowed someone who was 6 inches taller to get them easily. I must admit that Damion has been hitting a lot better as of late. He should be our #1 pinch hitter, with Dontrelle as #2 Definitely Choi 24/7
4. You guys are just frustrated that we're losing and dying to take it out on someone. I trust our FO and I know you all do because we were all lined up and ready to kiss the ground Beinfest walked on last year. Just calm down and be patient.
5. I'm not defending Cabrera's lack of effort, but I don't think he expected to be waved home. I would have slowed down too since it was clear I was going to make it to third with plenty of time. But again, there's the other voice in my head saying "You should always hustle because you never know when the ball will be dropped or bobbled and you can have a chance to score." Hmm, yes the voice of reason wins. My personal opinion is that today's game was not the fault of one person but a compilation of several different faults together. It feels like our team is just completely out of sync right now. I, for one, cannot wait for the All-Star break.
6. This is a much different and very improved Mets team coming this weekend. We have Glavine and Leiter lined-up for the series and our offense is on fire. Quite frankly, the Marlins will be lucky to escape with 1 win. We're talking about a team that has been one of the hottest in baseball. Meanwhile the Marlins are desperately searching everywhere for a pulse. 445080 That pulse is Hee Seop Choi in the top half of the lineup. Can't year you hear it beating?
7. A country divided is a vulnerable country. If Lincoln would've allowed the secession to happen, there is a likely chance that we would have been attacked from the outside. How do you know if the South would've risen up and joined these attackers or not? Lincoln made the right decision to preserve our nation.
8. Could someone please tell me why Pierre deserves to be on the all star team? He's done crap in the last month and a half!! Luckily his BA was so high that it actually looks great but I don't think he deserves to be on the all star team. Sorry! 444992 Does Sammy Sosa deserve to start? No. Although you can make the case that Pierre doesn't merit the honor this year as much as some of the others do, there are other things to consider in making your vote: last year's performance contributions to baseball the fact that he already has 2 homeruns (I'm still cowering in fear) Seriously, Juan Pierre is the best NL Candidate. No one embodies baseball better than he does.
9. Talking about stealing bases, somebody has to work with Treanor on throwing guys out. Everybody runs on him. 444814 I agree with CapeFish. It's not entirely on Treanor's shoulders, because I've seen the guy warm up with Dontrelle in the outfield and he has a cannon of an arm -- more so than Redmond does. IMO it's a matter of coordination and getting a feel for it. I predict that after the All-Star break, we'll see Treanor gunning guys down left and right (and up and down... diagonally too).
10. exact same lineup 444881 Agreed. Let Redmond rest and fully recover. Don't change a good thing
