I agree. He costs too much money too - you could dip into the farm and get a guy to do the same thing Harris is doing. Dillon, Padgett...Harris is a luxury anyway - and that is when he produces. Right now, just taking up another roster spot. It is unfortunate because I like the guy...

I agree completely, he's becoming a waste of a bench space. I haven't seen him get on base in an eternity. We've been using Willis to pinch hit more often than Harris lately. I wish Wil Cordero could come back already.

We should trade him for the seat 12 in row 26 in section 232 in Olympic Stadium. I think the fish would be getting the better end of the deal though.

Umm...Cordero would be a huge asset to this team. If he was healthy, of course.

 

But in a way, I am glad he got injured because it forced Jack to play Choi more and speed up his development.

 

But Cordero is a very good hitter and can be lethal to opposing pitchers. I hope he comes back in time for the playoffs.

I agree with releasing Harris or sending him down to AAA if he would accept that...he has a ring, he should know we are doing what we need to win, and right now he is not hitting like the PH king...

 

As far as sending down Willingham...He looks good at the plate, I think he should stick around....maybe our next Mudcat Savior

Send down Willingham? No way. He is doing well and I think the organization wants him to stay and be a big part of this team. I agree bringing up Dillon is a must. I assume there's a reason we can't send down Nunez. Actually..with all the talk about Willingham and his starting, it makes me think there will be a trade soon that will free up a permanent roster spot for him.

"all time pinch hit leader" is just another way of saying "career bench warmer that had a mother load of opportunities to pinch hit".

 

He already said he's going to be retiring after this season, might as well just let him finish out his career with the Fish and him just being around all the young guys is good for the team.

 

The only possibility would be to have him retire early and just give him a BS coaching position like "assistant hitting coach". I just wish Jack would give Mordey some more pinch hit AB's and only use Lenny as a last resort.

Lenny may not be producing, but don't call the guy names. He helped us out a few times this year and last, and keeps the club house nice and cool. Just lay off him.
