He'll get in eventually. I wish the White Sox signed him (remember that rumor?) :shifty

First off, the patches. PIT- 2006 All Star Game STL- New Busch Stadium TOR- 30th Anniversary HOU- 45th anniversary in Houston ATL- 40th anniversary in Atlanta What's funny is atlanta is celebrating 40 years from 1966-2006, and Houston is celebrating 45 years from 1962-2006.
3. You guys are blinded by your hatred for the Cubs. While I hate Cubs fans, you have to give them some credit for filling their stadium no matter what despite a century of mediocrity. They made the same cracks when you guys won back in 2003. Cub fans should look at their attendance figures before the trib company bought them. :thumbdown
4. I wonder how the Big Hurt feels seeing his team having all this success without him there. He was part of the on-field celebration.

less pressure situation on the reliever, equal less stress and better performance? 916178 Absolutley. It's a lot easier to lower your ERA when your team is up or down by 10 runs.
6. Did Wells ever bother to think their are other ways to trim your body without using steroids? Looking at him, obviously not.
7. that reminds me of Contreras, what a great acquisition that was for the yanks 916762 It was an even better one for the White Sox.
8. I forget which Florida paper it was in, but I recall seeing something about Alex Gonzalez signing with the Sox next season because of his relationship with Ozzie. I'll pass.
9. The Chi Sox deal with Contreras and Marte is still better... Decent starter and a great reliever opposed to a waivers reliever and a good starter. Go with the Chi Sox! 874130 Here in Chicago ESPN 1000 was reporting McCarthy and Marte for Burnett with Contreras going to the bullpen. The White Sox tried to trade for Contreras back in June of 2004 to make him a closer, but Kevin Brown went on the DL so the Yanks didn't give him up. 874204 So Contreras would go to the bullpen for the Sox is, right? 874210 Yes, with a possibly as the closer with Hermanson's back problems.

I just voted for Torii Hunter 25 times. Apparently he is neck and neck with Jeter. 840528 You voted for the wrong guy. It's actually Podsednik that is neck and neck with Jeter. From MLB.com: After one day of balloting, New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter leads the American League voting by a hair over Chicago White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik. The AL's other nominees, in order of current position in the voting, are Minnesota Twins outfielder Torii Hunter, Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui and outfielder Carl Crawford of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Help us Sox fans out, Marlins fans. I know some of you are probably Devil Rays fans and like Crawford, but he's in last place and unfortunately for Crawford, he just isn't going to get the support. Podsednik still has a chance though, so help us Sox fans out. Give Pods a little support. You know we'd do the same for Marlins players. We supported you in the playoffs 2 years ago. We even let you use our ballpark last year. Throw a little love Pods way. He is to us what Pierre was to your team in recent years. 840557 You beat me to it jjav! :thumbup If you are a Yankee hater, you should vote for Pods.

Crawford: .280 BA .314 OBP 24 SB, 5 CS 51 K's 17 BB Podsednik: .280 BA .356 OBP 40 SB, 9 CS 39 K's 31 BB Podsednik is more deserving because he is the better leadoff hitter.

Anyone else see Justin Morneau's game tying shot off of Troy Percival in the ninth? That was a monster shot.
14. They are hired by the White Sox, what do you expect? Do you really need a bland unbiased announcer to tell you exactly everything that is going on?? Believe me, if you were a White Sox fan or rooting against the team they were playing, you'd love them. "It's 5-1 good guys!" 750631 when you're doing a national broadcast (WGN is carried by most cable providers across the nation), you should try to be as unbiased as possible... They're the only announcers I've heard refer to the team as "we"...also, a white sox player can get the weakest hit possible and they'll talk about what a great piece of hitting that was, and then someone on the other team will do the same thing and they'll talk about how lucky that was... 751459 Why should they change their act when they're only on WGN? Why do they have to be unbiased if it's a national broadcast? As for your other comments, that's not true at all. Hawk routinely gives credit to the Twins, and calls out Sox players if they make a mistake. He'll whine about bad calls (if it is a bad call for sure) but I don't like it if he keeps whining about it later in the game. Hawk is not a propoganda machine. He's just a really biased southern Sox fan.
