October 30, 200520 yr Cubs fans where were you in October? Oh yea at home watching the Sox win the world series.
October 30, 200520 yr You guys are blinded by your hatred for the Cubs. While I hate Cubs fans, you have to give them some credit for filling their stadium no matter what despite a century of mediocrity. Yea, it's pretty hard to fill a stadium that is nicely located in North Chicago that is known more for it's history, the wanting of just to be there to see how beautiful it is, and the fact that it seems to be more of a tourist attraction. Then you got US. Celular feild, by which just it's nick name "The Cell" is not very welcoming. Then you got the fact that South Chi is stereotyped for being a rough area where fans beat the Refs senceless. Can you tell me which of the above you would seem to have a better time at ignoring both teams standings? Now I hate the cubs too, but I do have respect for the ability to attract a large crowd, but as you can see there are more realistic stats aside from front runner fans
October 30, 200520 yr I think the user Texsox (from SoxTalk.com) put it best: "...We have a team on the other side of the city that draws 2,000,000 to watch the clouds drift by while talking on their cell phones and getting wasted. Then a few baseball fans show up to really inflate the numbers..." Of course, if someone offered me a few thousand of those cloud-watching, cell-phone-flashing drunks to fill up empty seats at the DS, I'd say "bring 'em on, the more the merrier". :cool

While I hate Cubs fans, you have to give them some credit for filling their stadium no matter what despite a century of mediocrity. They made the same cracks when you guys won back in 2003. Cub fans should look at their attendance figures before the trib company bought them. :thumbdown
October 31, 200520 yr I remember in the 80's and early 90's when the Cubs werent drawing squat. People have short term memories. San Fran is NOW considered a great baseball town, "they fill up their stadium everyday", do they not remember the Candlestick days. The Yankees couldnt get 10,000 people in their stadium in the 80's, it wasnt until they began winning again that the stadium got filled.
October 31, 200520 yr I'd rather watch the Cubs than the White Sox. Keg party in suburbia >>>>>>> Ghetto
October 31, 200520 yr Fritz you know that Wrigleyville has a higher crime rate then Bridgeport don't you?
October 31, 200520 yr Fritz you know that Wrigleyville has a higher crime rate then Bridgeport don't you? That's expected when you have 36k people running around in one of the city's hot spots.

Ok, so why is it more dangerous to go to Comiskey then? Fritz never called it dangerous. It's a better overall experience (bars, entertainment, history, etc.). The South Side is just a ghetto with a very bland baseball stadium that houses a very bland baseball team.

And how are the Sox a bland baseball team?

And how are the Sox a bland baseball team? Why is it a better place? Because the scoreboard explodes? The place has no character, except for being boring. Why the White Sox are a bland baseball team... 1) Up until this year they were a futile franchise 2) No star players Atleast Cub fan have/had Sosa, Alou, Lee, Ramirez, Maddux and "future HOFers" in Prior and Wood.

It's not so much Comiskey being better, but Wirgley being worse. Wrigley has no parking, no replay board, and is falling apart. At least Comiskey has fundamentals, replay boards, and a fan deck. Just curious, have you been to both stadiums?

No. But if I ever went to Chicago... history, ivy, drunks, manual scoreboards, bars, character, Bartman's seat >>>>>>>>>>>>> replay boards (:plain), fan decks (:plain), falling off the upper deck, ghetto, no character Oh and let me mention this I do HATE the Cubs and their fans. But that wouldn't deter me from going to Wrigley.

Watching things on TV and reading reviews on the internet are a big help. Any White Sox fan will admit Comiskey is nowhere near other stadiums in the bigs. And don't play that card.

Its nowhere near alot of stadiums in MLB, but Wrigley is a dump. There is a difference between a Classic like Fenway, and a dump like Wrigley.
October 31, 200520 yr I have been to both. Wrigley 3 times. U.S Cellular once. The White Sox stadium is just a normal stadium, nothing to it. Wrigley has tradition, the atmosphere rocks, and there is no better outside atmopshere then wrigleyville.
