What does that mean, Das? How long is he locked in at this salary? Is it 3 years? What happens after that? Like, if they can't agree to terms? after the 2006 season DW will be arbitration eligible and will then be able to make millions. He is gonna be at the 300K range until then(unless Fish sign him to long term deal)

You guys control Dontrelle's rights up to the end of the 2009 season.
  5. ah, so that is where he is...at the all-star game..

Diaz(the 2B) is a great hitter who has some problems defensively The 2 pitchers throw gas but are projected as relievers.
  7. woah Abe Nunez is still in the Marlins org? I thought you guys had let him go via minor league free agency?
  8. Think Cabrera+a guy like Redman The Pirates are gonna demand a king's ransom
  9. yeah, he is Nope...he doesn't have enough service time. If he would have spent the whole 98 season in the bigs he would be a FA(98,99,00,01,02,03..6 years) but at the end of the year he will be at 5+ years and will be eligible for arbitration. http://royalszone.com/stories/051803/col_judd.shtml ''Recently, Gammons predicted the offseason arbitration figures for several players, including Carlos Beltran, who makes $6 million in this his second year of arbitration. Gammons predicted that an arbitrator would award Beltran with $11 million for the 2004 season.''
  10. If the KC deal falls through we might have a chance, but right now its a Beltran and JuanG swap plus money considerations. why the heck would KC do that? Beltran is just as good as JuanGone and isn't a free agent after this year like JuanGone is.
  11. *Royals OF Carlos Beltran, YES I know the Royals are still in it BUT he is a free agent at season's end. no he isn't
  12. nice b*tchslapping of us today. congrats.
  13. I have no idea what got into the Expos last night(they looked like the early season Expos) and they have been scoring a ton of runs....only when Livan is on the mound recently. Vargas hasn't had much support at all and I expect that to continue today against DW who is sooo tough.
  14. yeah, that's a good idea...forfeiting the game means no inevitable heartbreak :plain I am down for that :thumbup
  15. as you can see: Javier Vazquez is by FAR the most overated pitcher in MLB I can't stand this selfish bum anymore :plain
  16. way to go Javy! what an ace! gives up a hit to Penny! :plain :plain

  18. 92 now...
  19. UUU is a FA after this year. He'll give you guys a heart attack more often than not. But he gets the job done.
  20. Vazquez pissed...watch him implode after that walk.
  21. from teamonebaseball.com from prospectreport 7. Will Smith - OF - DOB: 10/23/81 - ETA: 2005/2006 Notes: A .336 OBP by a leftfielder in Low A-ball isn't very impressive. This is the main knock on Smith. However, he has the juice in his bat to slug .500 and that makes him an asset. Right now he projects as a Bubba Trammell-type player but he could improve his stock if he improves his batting eye. Thank you.
  22. How good of a prospect is Wil Smith?
  23. Is Spooneybarger down for the year? odd move to make if he isn't. will Looper remain as closer?
