  1. Feels like those are pretty lame returns for Cabrera, I wouldn't expect him to go. It's probably another case of "listening" and Pirates fans and media start speculating on potential returns and then everyone runs with those as if they're confirmed to happen. Anyways I'd be ok with trading Cabrera but it sure seems like we wouldn't get too much for him so why bother, it'd be selling low at this point anyways.
  2. Because I defended the concept of taking Jazz to a hearing for his obvious faults, just wanna make it clear that it's preposterous that the Marlins went to a hearing with Arraez and I'm stunned that they actually won.
  3. Ugh the worst, AI articles read like they were written by 4th graders.
  4. They were afraid of option one which is sad.
  5. Yea I don't mean it seriously it's just how it goes when a missed free agent or a traded player fails and fans go "good thing we didn't keep him!"
  6. We can debate the qualifying offer and financial stuff but the bottom line is that the Marlins didn't want one of their biggest bats to return and that's flat out sad and sends an awful message without an appropriate follow up that would say "well we didn't want him because we're moving on to better" but that has not happened so yeah it's a flat out downgrade.
  7. It sucks because I like him but now we gotta root for Soler to regress dramatically so we can look back in a year and say that Bendix was a genius for not offering the QO. Like we did with Marte and others.
  8. I think he was being sarcastic that they're gonna sign a middle free agent and trade a front line SP as their rally cry instead of just signing Soler. In that case, Joe is right.
  9. Well, yea, but, no? It's ridiculous yes but if they thought offering it meant that he would take $20 million and didn't think there was a chance at getting the draft pick then I get it?
  10. Mish believes that the Marlins believed he would have accepted the $20 million QO and so it wasn't offered because they didn't even think he was worth that. That has to be true because if it was just about getting a draft pick there was zero reason to not give the QO. Not giving it means they didn't want to risk keeping him.
  11. For the record, my favorite park in the history of baseball is still Chan Ho.
  12. It's impossible to repeat last year as this season has a new schedule and many new players on new teams, etc etc.
  13. Marlins Park about to become one of the oldest parks in baseball at the rate that new parks are suddenly popping up.
  14. That was the joke.
  15. Zero problem with them hiring whoever they think will help the front office but this one seriously has the dumbest title. Special projects sounds like a joke. Imagine Bendix having to explain what each of these silly job titles is actually responsible for.
  16. It's been just a few hours since Sara was hired and I can confirm that they're already hard at work at hiring her new assistant.
  17. Peter hired a woman to help with "special projects"?
  18. How dare you bring common sense and logic into this
  19. I didn't see you on the field, what number were you?
  20. Oh God please don't do that. Gordon was a good add. A good add sucks if you then follow it up with a bad subtraction.
  21. Saw some people saying that Nick Gordon can play anywhere. That seems really weird as I would have thought he can now only play wherever the Marlins play.
