  1. If Joey Ortiz was their plan A, I'd be so scared of what plan B is... which makes me think they're not gonna bother getting a SS at all right now. Although someone on Twitter did mention Willy Adames and now I do wonder if the Brewers are listening on him. That would be way better than Joey Ortiz.
  2. Very curious on your opinion on this Jazz question here. Not to deny that Bruce is being a cheap fuck over such little money and yes it would have been so much better if they just gave him what he asked for... but don't the Marlins have a case with Jazz over his inability to stay on the field?
  3. Yeah Mish only said he heard of a trade being worked on but he didn't say it was happening for sure and he didn't give trade details. With that said I would have hated trading Luzardo for Joey Ortiz. I'd rather take my chances with Brujan and Berti. Will now be interesting to see if Bendix actually pivots to another SS plan or nothing at all.
  4. Don't know what any of that has to do with the point I was making.
  5. Yes I agree. And the amount is so minimal that the Marlins should have given it to him especially since he's considered one of their star players. It would have been the right move. Buuuuut with that said, Jazz's injury concerns and lack of healthy playing time means the team actually has a legitimate "reason" to challenge the guy in arbitration. That's the point I was making and that's probably the reason that the Marlins won the case.
  6. In theory it's so lame but honestly Jazz' injury concerns and his lack of playing time is a legitimate reason for this one to go to arbitration. It's not like with Arraez who doesn't have much negative for the Marlins to complain about.
  7. Honestly wouldn't shock me if that's what his parents meant to say but they didn't know how to spell it so they took a wild guess and came up with Wandy. That explanation fits probably 30% of the names in Miami.
  8. Wandy you think he'll arrive in camp?
  9. Exactly. And his take is always the opposite of whatever actually happened.
  10. The thing with posts like these, from you, is that if Mas had bought the team, anytime he did anything wrong then you'd be making posts saying it would have been better if Bruce Sherman bought the team and that you knew that from the beginning.
  11. What did they sell?
  12. Marlins can't sign anyone because the Royals have gobbled everyone up! Sheesh!
  13. No, if he was free I'm sure the Marlins would have already signed him.
  14. Yeah this right here is the dilemma because I think we all trust in the concept of sustainability it's just the constant waiting for it, having to push the timeline further down so often, and then the trust issues that arise from that. And Bendix shouldn't have to be faulted for trying to get this done especially if we could somehow be assured that he's actually got the right plan but none of this is in a vacuum and for a long time fan it's just "here we go again."
  15. Yep! And to think Nike not only chose this style in 2024 is insane to me.
  16. Additionally, the placket that forms the collar/neckline/and the vertical strip where the buttons are, which is often called "the headspoon", is now more narrow and that's caused some odd issues with the placement of certain elements... The MLB batterman logo is now under the headspoon because there's less room on top. This lowers the logo as well as the player name and numbers.
  17. So just a quick few points on the updated 2024 jersey styles, in an effort to make more lightweight jerseys I see them looking like cheaply made lower quality jerseys. They remind me of early 90s pullover mesh batting practice jerseys. But this is annoying not because of the materials but because of the changes that the new template is forcing all the jerseys to have. Here's the biggest offender: sleeves will now all end with an elastic band cuff, which is like an added piece instead of having one full sleeve that has stripes stitched onto the ends. Compare the Braves sleeves here, first pic is the previous jerseys, 2nd pic is the 2024 one: So that change is being forced on the Braves jersey because Nike can't do the old piping style of stitching on the new jersey template. Here's a comparison of the Orioles sleeves, not sure why this image is darkened though, left image is 2024:
  18. Nah, all of that winning and fanbase engagement is meaningless because if you don't win the World Series everything is a failure anyways so ultimately who cares?
  19. Is it a mutual agreement or not?
  20. A fan made mockups with the blue, how did they not pick this one?
