It's not like with Arraez who doesn't have much negative for the Marlins to complain about.

And the amount is so minimal that the Marlins should have given it to him especially since he's considered one of their star players. It would have been the right move. Buuuuut with that said, Jazz's injury concerns and lack of healthy playing time means the team actually has a legitimate "reason" to challenge the guy in arbitration. That's the point I was making and that's probably the reason that the Marlins won the case.

When you sign zero free agents, drop your payroll after making the playoffs, and argue over $300k with your star, I dunno, your bff @Das Texanmay have a point Edited February 2, 20242 yr by pollythewog

We're talking about a guy who slashed .250/.304/.457 last season and only played in 97 games. This isn't Miguel Cabrera here.

February 2, 20242 yr Look I’m hugely critical of jazz here but he’s also a great player to root for and I love him, I own his jersey. He’s one of the brightest spots this team had when he plays. I’m confused how anyone here thinks otherwise and thinks the franchise stiffing him, not extending arraez, no QO Soler, isn’t a pattern
