Wake up all you wanna be managers
Asked if he could be an everyday center fielder, Gonzalez said: "I think eventually." In time, De Aza may project to be the answer in center, plus he can play the corner outfield positions as well.

Steve, Bob and Jeff are working on a very high scaffolding. Suddenly, Steve falls off. He is killed instantaneously. After the ambulance leaves with Steve's body, Bob and Jeff realize they'll have to inform his wife. Bob says he's good at this sort of sensitive stuff, so he volunteers to do the job. After two hours he returns, carrying a six-pack of beer. "So did you tell her?" asks Jeff. "Yep", replies Bob. "Say, where did you get the six-pack?" Bob informs Jeff. "She gave it to me." "WHAT??" exclaims Jeff, "you just told her her husband died and she gave you a six-pack??" "Sure," Bob says. "WHY?" asks Jeff. "Well," Bob continues, "when she answered the door, I asked her, 'are you Steve's widow?' 'Widow?', she said, 'no, no, you're mistaken, I'm not a widow!' So I said: "I'll bet you a six-pack you ARE!'"

An old man, a boy and a donkey were going to town. The boy rode on the donkey and the old man walked. As they went along they passed some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking and the boy was riding. The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions. Later, they passed some people who remarked, "What a shame, he makes that little boy walk." They then decided they both would walk! Soon they passed some more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride. So, they both rode the donkey. Now they passed some people who shamed them by saying how awful to put such a load on a poor donkey. The boy and man said they were probably right, so they decided to carry the donkey. As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned. The moral of the story; "If you try to please everyone, you might as well kiss your ass good-bye." :thumbup

An armless man walked into a bar which was empty except for the bartender. He ordered a drink and when he was served, asked the bartender if he would get the money from his wallet in his pocket, since he has no arms. The bartender obliged him. He then asked if the bartender would tip the glass to his lips. The bartender did this until the man finished his drink. He then asked if the bartender would get a hanky from his pocket and wipe the foam from his lips. The bartender did it and commented it must be very difficult not to have arms and have to ask someone to do nearly everything for him. The man said, "Yes, it is a bit embarrassing at times. By the way, where is the restroom?" The bartender quickly replied, "The closest one is in the gas station three blocks down the street."

Baseball is about runs. Centerfield is usually a spot braced for SB's, and a high OBP, which create runs. In the "forgotten" Runs Created stat it shows Borchard creating only 55 runs in 600 AB's throughout his career. This is an incredibly low number. His OBP is at a career .283 which is definitely not good, and granted last year, he had a career year with his .318 OBP. But speed and runs, is where the league trend is in CF for the most part. Even if he hits 20 homeruns, this will not make up for his lack of run production. Homeruns are severely overrated when it comes to creating runs. We are losing so much of at this position with Borchard. Borchard hit well in pinch situations, but I can almost gurantee he will definitely contribute the least amount of any starter. I'd rather see Reed, Sanchez, or Abercrombie. yes yes yes well done yes//// Finally

Just some random thoughts on CF
heres your quote Willits is doing his usual .350 BA/.480 OBP, "the man is a machine", that is spring training correct if your opinion is" the man is a machine",then look at these stats and tell me what these guys are 22ab .364/.391/.409 22ab .364/.375/.545 28ab .214/.214/.357 seems all are pretty much comparable wouldnt you agree?? just a question I'll hang up and listen to your reply No. :lol yea now thats funny

Marlins @ Astros: 3/15/07
Nolasco gives up a 2 run homer to Berkman but Hanley answers with a homer (he's 2-2). 2-1 Astros Jason Wood continues to hit....he's 1-1 today I think Jason is a great ball player I hope he stays up he can add alot to the team even as a bench guy he will come off hitting agree?

(Borchard was loathed by my friends who are White Sox fans, pretty much saying if it had anything to do with baseball he was awful at it) That probably says more about your choice of friends and their knowledge of the game than it does about Borchard's playing ability. Borchard proved last season he can play the game defensively (at least as a corner outfielder, school is still out on his potential in CF) and offensively his ten homeruns in 230 ABs equates to a 25+ HR season if he played everyday. Additionally (and this is just my own little thing no one has to agree with the methodology or validity of the claim) I like to look at what it would take to make a player's numbers respectable, in this case I looked at what it would take to get Borchard from a .230 BA to a .275 BA. The answer was ten (10) more hits. Knowing the game is one of inches and a little luck (good and bad) I see potential there for improvement. One additional hit in every 23 ABs last season changes people's perception of him completely. Aside from my nasty little comment at the start of this post ( :notworthy ) I'm willing to bet if Borchard had come in and hit .275 with ten homeruns in 230 ABs this conversation wouldn't be taking place and most people would be generally happy with performance, urging the FO to install him in CF. Keep in mind alot of those ABs were solos coming off the bench as a pinch-hitter. I have no idea what he'd do in an everyday role but I don't think he should be written off too quickly. He has the "potential" to succeed at this game and showed glimpses of it last season and this spring. It's anyone's guess whether he does the job or not, but I'm not ready to bet against the guy. this guy Borchard is barely ok at best I also know fans in Chicago and they are of the same opinion you forget who and how the Marlins ended up with this guy .. Oh YEA Girardi (the Chicago connection) could it of been him(Girardi) just helpin an old friend at a time of need ?? all these stats, you are tryin to justify this guy, when he was just brought in on a FAVOR IMO GOOD LUCK REGGIE I'm confident we will see more of you soon
